The FL explained that her mum pretty much abandoned her so you could say that the first lady treats her like an adoptive daughter. In this scenario her bio mum is not competing as she doesn’t care about her so first lady doesn’t see her as a threat. She’s also exceptionally smart and filial so she definitely has a soft spot for her (her bio daughter is cute but a bit useless - main wife knows that she won’t be the family’s pride). It also helps that the dad is not the typical philanderer with 10 wives. Main wife is clearly very nice and content.

No beef, I just struggle with his body language and expressions. I had the same issue with his last historial drama. That;s subjective so it's ok if you don't get it or agree.

I agree, the ML is for me the main flaw of this drama. Everyone is acting grown up (even his sisters act more mature) but he seems to be completely disconnected and slow. I would understand if he was a teenager but I believe he is in his early 20's? In this era men/women at this age were very mature, with families etc.

I think that once he knows that she was his childhood crush (will happen ep 13 I think), he will ask to marry her instead of her sister. I'm sure he will pretend that it is only to help her and they will gradually realise their feelings. Judging by her dresses and the fact that they sleep next to each other, it's pretty confirmed that they will live together. I also guess that her sister will start turning evil out of jealousy.

Also, I find it hilarious and sooo good that the FL admitted straight away to her sister and the ML that she indeed didn't fall in love with SML but he is her only/best next choice to survive and she is being pragmatic about it. It will avoid the universal C drama misunderstanding that lasts until the last episode. ML was judging her but low key admiring her with his "this is my girl" smirk.

YES! There have been some interesting dramas recently but most fail (IMO) to build up the romantic storyline and tension that makes you really want to root for the cp and gives you the feels. Just the last scene in ep 10 of them on the horse....so so beautiful. Dramas like Ashes of Love, Eternal Love, Rattan did that very well to the point where you don't feel frustrated by the lack of kisses. I'd believe it if someone told me the leads were dating as I find them super comfortable and natural. Really hope this continues.

She is perfectly cast for this role - she excels in this era (historical/idol dramas are not really her thing). The ML though - I just can never get into his acting, his body language is just awkward: the way he opens his eyes widely, moves his lips, etc. He will probably improve in a few years. But overall, it is a very enjoyable drama, very well executed.

I'm obsessed with their chemistry and the tension between them - it feels mature, I love this type of relationship build up - their attraction and push/pull is very well acted and is so palpable. She has no chemistry with SML (they give strong sibling vibes) so I'm not tempted to ship them. Last time I enjoyed a CP this much was in Rattan.

Beautiful cinematography and costumes. Both leads are gorgeous even in plain clothes.

Jeremy is BOMB!!! So refreshing to see an C actor with minimal makeup, normal body, natural facial expressions and a deep voice. Great charisma and great acting skills.
