I never said BL fans were young though? I said fans of this drama must be young if they're not bothered by the age gap (I used the term younger audience). The only thing I pointed it out regarding BL fans is how they ship actors after a project, which is completely true. Fanservice events happen all the time. Most of the time it's creepy. This is a huge issue in the BL circle and many actors talked about it. So shipping actors with this age gap is not something I'm comfortable with. Fortunately Chinese actors don't have to go through much fanservices, which is why I said I would probably be fine.

Also what does it has to do with people working or not? I still don't understand what's wrong with being young, why act offended? And I never criticized anyone here, I just gave my opinion as someone older explaining why I'm not comfortable with it. I probably wouldn't have been bothered by this below 28 either.

I agree that people don't seem to care enough about those age gaps. I passed on so many dramas because of this. Watching a 20 yo with a 30+, no thank you. Many Asian countries (including mine) try to normalize that way too much and i'm really not comfortable with it. Writing fiction is one thing but using real people is another thing.

I kind of grasped that the production wanted to stay true to the novel when people replied. I also understand that fans agree with this choice. But does that mean i can't feel uncomfortable with that? What's in a novel doesn't mean it's right.

You must be young if you think one is mature and the other a "big kid" by giving me perfectly normal hobbies for a 30+. Which actually prove my point. 30+ people would find this weird and if they don't it's probably even weirder tbh. 12 years is a lot below 25.

So yes it has a lot to do with the younger audience and BLs are known to have big age gap in novels.

Yes of course, i don't care about fictional gap :) It matters regarding their chemistry for instance? I'm 31 and 20 is a kid to me so how do you build chemistry with someone so young compared to you and feel ok about it? That's what I meant. It's my personal opinion of course and I understand that most BL fans don't care about age gap.

It's 12 years and 22 is young (probably 20 when filming this), would be different if he was in his late 20s. And for The Untamed it's a fiction, not the real actors gap.
