I think yun weishan was crying because, Ziye was testing her patience. It was clear that Gong Ziyu was not a threat and he was so clueless about what was happening but ziye still kept han ya si and yun weishan hanging in a life and death situation and was enjoying the desperation and pain of yun weishan who was at the brink of breaking her character and brimming with anger and helplessness. Now she loves Ziyu or not, or even if she doesn't wants an innocent to die, was the reason behind her resistance, we will get to know in later episodes. But I think Ziye was not happy and will definitely get back to yun weishan, she has a higher rank than her. And she used this as an opportunity to test yun weishan and her feelings and her morals, she will not let her shield gong ziyu in an actual battle between Gongs and Wufeng. They will make preparations. Looks like we aren't seeing the same drama, I wasn't a fan of any of the cast, I just stumbled upon this drama when I had nothing else to watch and no other drama was catching my attention. I am still not a fan of any of the cast, because I watch dramas regardless of the cast and how aesthetic they are , they just have to be good actors (It irritates me when they are just good looking but not good actors) and story has to be nice. But I understand that some people are drawn back from the dramas who are so popular, I was also like that in the past, I couldn't watch moon lovers, untamed, ashes of love and many other dramas for years because of this, nevertheless when I watched I didn't regretted

Personally I think, it's on par with love and redemption and love between fairy and devil, it might be even better than these dramas. It is the best drama of 2023. Don't rely on reviews, watch first 3 episodes and you will know if it's your cup of tea or not. It's cinematography is insane. I would love to read an extensive novel on this story. This drama doesn't has only one strong point, everyone is giving it's best.

They are not the ones who started the rumour, they were young when they listened older people, servants, family members talking about ziyu like that, they were young so they didn't masked their feelings or had a filter over their words and while adults they genuinely believed ziyu was not of Gongs, you are viewing the drama only from ziyu's perspective and ignoring Shangjue 's perspective coz he is not the main lead and may die soon

There is no relationship between Gong Shangjue and Shangguan qian because from the start he knows she is a spy, he didn't harshly treated his wife to be but a spy whose mission is to burn his abode to ashes and put an end to their family and the peace for which they are striving for hundreds of years. Even I would never choose someone over my Country no matter how much I love or been with that person for years and any sane normal person would do same. While on Gong Ziyu side, he doesn't knows Yun weishan's real identity and her motives, he treats her as his wife, a life partner and a companion and no matter how honestly he treats her she is still a spy who has her own duties and a sister to protect, she can love him but her loyalty belongs to wufeng, her skills belongs to wufeng and her death also belongs to wufeng, and that's Gong Ziyu's misfortune. Time will tell whom she choses. This is a very painful lovestory

They do have different agenda, they have different trainers, and wufeng wanted to sacrifice one to save others. House keeper jia died but anonymous is still at large and a naive like gong ziyu was thinking that he was the only wufeng spy in the residence. Some episodes back SGQ wanted YWS to capture her when her cover blows to strengthen her identity and even forced her there, han ya si's words helped her keep her calm and plan ahead

From the beginning they had different motives, and they both wouldn't have hesitated before killing the other, we have seen them collaborating but should not forget that they are not on the same team from the start, it was only for their own benefit and they have to do their best to survive, if they don't do that they will die either in the hands of gong family or wufeng. Tbh I thought by offering GSJ help SGQ dig her own grave and landed YWS in a situation where she will not be able to help her either. But the chess scene was amazing today
