Wow, I finally found someone on this site who's as snarky and sarcastically funny as I usually try to be...also, I agree with you 100% for the ones I've seen (though I do admit, as much as Naoki made me want to punch him, I did cut him a little slack seeing as he's obviously dealing with some issues regarding how the girls in high school treated him...he's got a bit of an ego to deal with too). This trope is really aggravating though, so I understand where you're coming from.

Side note: I also love Joo Joong Won. I get that he's pretty cruel and does some nasty and heartless things, but throughout the show I could never bring myself to dislike him. He was just so much fun to watch that I never got around to it. Even at the beginning when he cuts the guy's flower which was obviously an incredibly cruel thing to do, I still had the biggest grin on my face through most of that scene. I don't know what that says about me, but whatever... So Ji Sub is awesome. End of story.

I would absolutely watch this...I'm sort of a casual fan of SHINee, so I think it would be interesting to see all of them together in a series...my only question would be how many episodes do you think this should be? Cuz I can see it working at 20 (16 I think would be too short for everything that would be going on), maybe 25 if you really stretched it, but I can't help thinking that if this actually was a thing they would make it 40+ episodes, which for me is way too long

this sounds interesting, but what made me chuckle is that the synopsis reads like the description to a dating sim...I'm not sure how I feel about that :)

i've read Norwegian Wood but have not seen the film yet. i'm even reading another Murakami book now. i saw in…
I have seen the series based on the book Train Man (Densha Otoko) and I love it so much - there's also a drama special episode and a final movie that are supposed to conclude the story in the drama - they're all fantastic in my opinion

THANK YOU!!! omg, I finally found somebody else that doesn't like Boys Over Flowers!!! my opinion is shared!! I'm not trying to be weird or anything, but seriously it is hard to find people in most common forums that don't like BOF, or at least it has been for me
also, probably the thing that makes me drop dramas the most is when you reach the logical conclusion of a story but the drama KEEPS GOING...sometimes for several episodes...that's really irritating to me and I just can't force myself through those last episodes

in the description for Love Me If You Dare..."This new Chinese Sherlock drama..." SOLD!! I'm SO gonna be watching that VERY soon!! thanks for all the recommendations for spooky dramas because while I'm not too terribly fond of horror, I do LOVE a good creepy movie or show, so I'll definitely be checking most of these out

"the mopey assassin named Woon who never kills anybody but broods over how evil he is" - that made me laugh
I haven't seen any of these shows, but a couple of them are on my "To Watch" list, so I'll keep in mind what you said
one of my guilty pleasures, btw, is a mini drama called "Ma Boy" - the story is pretty simplistic, the acting isn't great, and the characters are kinda stupid, but it is one of the funniest things I've ever born witness to - I recommend it solely because of one character, and that's the second male lead Tae Joon...MAN, is he fun to watch!!

I've seen all types of dramas from all types of countries and honestly, I love them all. If I were to relate it…
I don't think I've ever seen a better analogy...and I completely agree, though I don't watch many Hong Kong or Thai dramas

oh, man, this movie - heartwarming, touching, and it made me cry...it takes A LOT to make me cry at a movie, but this...what a movie
(I think maybe what pushed me over the edge was the sea turtle thing...yah, go watch this movie)

I think Mu Won was my favorite part about Protect the Boss. He had some of the best "oooooh, burn!!!" lines in all of dramadom. Oh, and the scene where Mu Won and Ji Hun "fight"...had me rolling on the floor laughing. I watched that scene probably about 15 times until I had to stop cuz I couldn't breathe. Not even kidding. :)

So the way I see it, something like this has potential to work, but knowing American cinema and the way American filmmakers approach things, I really don't think this is going to be anything more than a really stupid adaptation of a story that, although it's not my favorite, I kinda liked. Most of the problems that I see right away with it come from the fact that this whole story is built on multiple things that don't exist in America (or at least not the way they do in Asia). There are things in it (like "confessing your love" - Americans don't really do that) that just won't come off as sounding American because they are innately Asian. I'm just as hopeful as the next person, but I'm really not gonna hold my breath hoping for a true American adaptation of this story. I'll still probably watch it, if only for the hours of raging and debate I could get from it.

This is one of the only dramas I've actually seen all the way through more than once. Typically I don't have the patience to sit through something this long more than once, but this... This is so cute and so hilarious I HAD to watch it again. By far my favorite Taiwanese drama.
