Just finished this! Absolute peak! Almost everything about this was perfect! The backstory was interesting but sadly quite a bit confusing... thankfully reddit cleared it up. The ending could've been better imo. They should have just made that part (iykyk) a special and just given us a longer epilogue. And more Gongsun+Qi Shu 😭
The shady part was only on the beginning tho, and iirc they revealed what it was all about in the next ep or something.…
Oh wait you were talking about the police task force team leader. I thought u meant the kingfisher team's team leader. My bad 😔
As for the team leader's shadiness, it was revealed rather vaguely. Iirc as they showed that scene of him looking at his son's pic, there was some monologue (from det lee dong jin or bong I think) about Kingfisher potentially having allies in other workplaces and maybe even a mole in the police, so it's presumable that the team leader is an ally of Kingfisher team.
Then we also got the scene of that one criminal who deliberately caused ruckus to get imprisoned so he won't get killed by kingfisher, but then he was visited by someone in jail, and that visitor was revealed to have been the police team leader. The criminal was later found dead, so the team leader obv added something to his food.
And during this scene we also saw multiple random people in the public. I believe they showed this so we know that there r a lot of people who work for kingfisher secretly in different sectors, helping out in murdering criminals
Did the king loves his son? 5 episodes in so far plus im getting annoyed with his sister. dumb. now i remember…
The king is actually quite complex. He isn't actually a good guy. You could say he loves his son, but in a very twisted way. He deliberately ruined ml life so ml would become ruthless (more than himself) and not love his father and rule the realm with power. The king only cares about power so he wants his son to be like him, if not worse. More spoiler: He wasn't always like this, he eventually became cruel after becoming king. And some stuff happened (that involves ml's mother), which ultimately is the reason ml hates his father. You'd think the father is actually a good guy and that there's more to the backstory, but he actually doubles down and is lowkey crazy 😭
I didn’t want her to get caught but I expected a messier, scandalous ending, with the police officer and the…

She only kills the worst criminals who receive lenient or unreasonable punishment!
Basically it's an organization with multiple branches where they eliminate bad people secretly. This show revolves around one of those branches, with FL being the focus. It's kinda like taxi driver, but ruthless. And even if it's ruthless, her targets mostly don't even feel anything cuz they get one-tapped.
It might just be a small similarity—for example, the heroines all have a boyish, straightforward personality.…
Yea probably. It's just that some comments said something along the lines of poj is same as lotfj but has better cinematography and less action choreography, which led me to believe it'd mostly be the same..
And yes! So far I'm really enjoying it, binged 10 eps in one day :D I'm already missing the main characters when there's still 30 eps left 😓
My first CDrama was legend of the female general. I was planning to watch this next, but some people said POJ was very similar to LOTFG, so I decided to put off watching this for a couple months and watched other cdramas in the meantime.
But now that I'm watching this (10 eps in), I literally don't see anything that's similar to LOTFG other than the fact that the FL can fight??
What were those people on 😭 I could have watched this sooner... The only reason I didn't was that I didn't wanna feel like one was better/worse than the other because they were supposedly the same.
It is possible that in the coming episodes more similar concepts/storylines would appear, but don't most cdramas do that too
Literally one of the best historical cdramas. As someone who's new to this genre (and Chinese dramas as a whole) I found this show very interesting and it had the best ending. Everything from the start to the conclusion was done so beautifully!
This was my fifth CDrama in this rabbit hole, I'm gonna try fated hearts next! (has been in my watchlist for a while) :D I hope it won't disappoint me after this masterpiece!

I couldn't figure them out cuz they're modern dramas. I've only watched a couple historical ones after all.
And yes that's fair 😁
I figured them out after a lot of thinking but I still don't know what's YAD and L&P 😭

Thinking of watching Pursuit of Jade next :D
