The problem is U're getting wrong idea about this ML & the drama genre dear...First of all this drama was not supposed to b so focused on Romance..& this is not necessary all d tm to show CP by hot kissing scene...I don't know u have watched this drama from the beginning or not...But Gu nang ting aka Wang kai is definitely not a Toxic ML..for sure...Even before falling in love he supported the FL throughout her career..He was the only one who fought for her from the beginning while She was facing sexism in workplace.
U r talking like FL is proposing in every episodes & he is rejecting her in every episode.. thats nt the whole case actually... Ep 22-26 this duration only makes him hesitate due to many reason if u have watched this drama u would know that..later on they didn't officially proposed but knew that they love each other cz so many serious things r happening in their workplace... Intense romance wouldn't suit this few episode.. they balanced it well..
The main problem is FL is so straightforward & ML is suffering from PTSD and also slow & shy...But he didn't refused her before untill he came to know about his frnd..
I actually personally loving this slow burn romance but this is definitely NOT A TOXIC ROMANCE.. I have seen more toxicity in C-Drama before..even in some K-drama
