I can guess, getting enraged about a show with other people has its own perks.

Well, the best shows had around 9 iirc, which is pretty comparable to imdb and its ratings for tv shows, which tend to get evaluated higher than movies.
I disagree with many ratings in general but that´s a different issue altogether.

Nah, just that there are so many shows to watch, why waste 16 hours on something that stimulated that much uproar.

Thx for the info.

1.) Makes sense, just subjectively though seems like most shows got the same amount of boost, for the most part, so i guess did not change much from the rankings. The biggest difference i saw was Minglan that went down 0.6 points and a lot of ranks.

2.) Ok, i am warned. Was thinking of watching it since it got on Netflix now, but i guess i will try something else.

Wow what happened to this drama? I remember it had a rating of close to 9, did it turn sour at some point?
Beyond that, i have noticed that the ratings of all dramas got lower, did something happen in the month i did not log on MDL?

._. I am speechless. I still do not understand why the vote are not open when all the episodes are out...
It´s the opposite, i have argued for many shows that the rating should stay closed until at least a representative amount of episodes aired, optimally all of them, but most disagreed.

(1), it's no secret that women and men are the most beautiful between 30 and 50 It´s a secret to me. How does…
Once again i have not said that or claimed you said that.
Your statement was "no secret that men and women are the most beautiful between 30 and 50".
It´s a completely nonsensical statement that implies absoluteness when reality simply contradicts that.
If that´s your opinion, feel free to think or feel that. Is it something that is accepted or, like you said, "no secret". Ehm no.
In Asia, for most, by age 30 you either settled down or you are considered a leftover women (obviously i am generalizing Asia, but it´s the case with most Far East countries/cultures). And why is that? Because the beauty standard accepts the peak in your youth. Once again, you and i might disagree, but that has nothing to do with the norm and the social standard.
In Western countries? It´s not that different, except the societal pressure does not exist as much, and it´s not as cutthroat, but the beauty standard is still early to mid twenties anyway.
There is a reason why many actresses 40+ struggle to land roles, as sad that may be, it´s reality.

And it is obvious there is a lot of projection going on with you, considering how agitated you seem to be in your answer, maybe you felt my statements were directed at you or something, but regardless, it has nothing to do with reality in which youth is considered as beauty standard.

I have not said that, but we are talking about the norm, not exceptions like, let´s say, Gong Li.
Your statement made it sound like that´s true for every man and woman, when in reality it is almost the opposite.

Sure, that´s true, especially in Asian countries, 30 is really a benchmark for age, but that has nothing to do with the point at hand. And we do not have to create the illusion of "real beauty starts with 40" or so, or "40 is the new 20".
It just keeps you from accepting reality and age gracefully.

In their 30s? Definitely not. 40s? At least with care they still look pretty young and beautiful. But 50s? Yep 20s-30s more beautiful, definitely.

It´s a secret to me. How does the saying go? Women age like milk, men age like wine.

That's mainly because it had the actors and their hype at first, but as the actual drama played out many realized…
Just another example why rating a drama before its end is useless and senseless.

You can put all Reply female leads here, though i guess you can say the three are all similar.

And also Han Jung-Oh from Noh-Hee Kyung´s Live.

And also the prosecutor from Fiery Priest.

And My Mister obviously.

I recently rewatched it, had watched it when it first aired, and yep, it´s not as good as i remembered it to be.
I think it is essential for this drama, since ultimately it is a slice of life in an unusual setting, to watch it like it airs, and let the episodes breathe in-between. Trying to watch it in succession really makes the flaws of it more obvious.

I read someone say that Hwang Shi Mok character will not be remembered as he is too forgettable. The fact that,…
Yep that´s the point people seem to miss with this drama, and it is highly relevant, especially in the times in which we live now.

The comparisons came up not because of the content but the depth and quality.

I am soo relieved this drama is over!! What drew me to it was the classical music setting which I always found…
Yep completely agree with everything, i saw Brahms in the title and spontaneously started it. It was ok at first but man, the acting is stiff, and there is almost no progression. Music is pretty much irrelevant except providing the cheap love triangle theme.

Y'all in this comment section: lighthearted, comedy, funny, not dark or twistedThe actual show in the first 3…
As usual, not only the content matters but how it is depicted and portrayed, at least for people who do not think too much about it. Of course these things/deeds are very dark and twisted, but the drama does not really delve into them too much and mostly mentions them, hence the lighthearted tone for the most part. Whether that´s a good thing or not, anybody can judge it for themselves.

Obviously, it´s an idealistic drama like most are. The drama acknowledges these deeds, but it does not, for the most part, influence how you are supposed to see the characters within the prison in itself.
One is a murderer, but he is remorseful and can be the sweetest guy ever, one is a dirtbag schemer who has a heart of gold, one is a drug user whose usage is explained with the lack of love he received and so forth.
Obviously, these guys are not the average prison inmates, hence idealistic.

i agree with you full stop. i'm not a huge fan of Life but the writer has made her mark. i like what you said…
Yep, i noticed the Western drama fandom tends to pick certain actors/actresses and pick on them for whatever reason, and most of the time, i can not really understand, and seems weird to me, most of the time it is females hating on actresses.

I think there can be a discrepancy often times between what people expect a drama to be and what they want out of it, and what it actually is and tries to do. LIVE was a close to slice of life in a specific setting with realistic characters, dialogue and for the most part, events. But some people are so used to over the top and unrealistic Dramas that they are specifically expect that.
At least that´s my impression.

Yes, as with many doctrines, Confucianism has its good and bad sides, as well people who interpret it in a particular way and misconstrue it, in this case the rigid social structure and the inequality between males and females.
To grow up in that setting and that ideology and still strife for more, one of the points why the drama is so impressive.
I recommend watching this one (https://kisskh.at/14324-six-flying-dragons) first though, it´s a prequel that aired later though and explains a lot of the historical setting and relationships that are relevant in Tree with Deep Roots.
It´s also written by the same writers.

Yep, Absurdism can be highly relevant for people struggling in their lives.
