JumPER, Almond's crush, would not have been outed ultimately were it not for Latte's interference with the 'date' in ep 5. He may be easy on the eyes, but Latte's character is at best questionable. Mine are on the support player JumPER-Pak. The writers will give the target audience Latte/Almond anyway.
I understand why people say they broke up. For me personally, there’s no difference between “take a break”…
I am honored to communicate with you. I joined yesterday and above is my second post. There are certain 'posters' for whom, since about 2020, I actively look (and whine internally if they haven't expressed their opinions). You are definitely one of them always and are not only invaluable to me, but also for the site. The words gracious, courteous, calm, adult come to mind. As for the qualities of the leads, I agree completely and applaud your strong personal self esteem in similar situations. Iwanaga's character is fixed, and Miyata has only his history with him to guide him: you expressed their communication beautifully. Perhaps I was overly defending Iwanaga with my response. With his childhood, psychologically, he cannot help but have a strong personality. I also felt at the time that the actor was being unfairly criticized by others. My first post was the (above somewhere) lyrics to the standard "The Second Time Around". Sharing the lyrics was what finally motivated me to join MDR. BTW, I've found that the production sources for this series also may have produced My Beautiful Man and, my current favorite, If It's With You. Hope you enjoyed Ep 6.😊

Penultimate episodes syndrome hits "Love...second time around" in episode 5, unfortunately. Forunately it makes sense. However, if blame there be beyond the script, put the blame on Miyata; Iwanaga's character and remarkably astute casting or acting choice remains the necessarily required masque, impassive-as-always, to solve bizarre family issues and protect his deep love, let alone run his business. Iwanaga has told Miyata "Don't do anything". Miyata tells sister about past [i.e., he does something]. As Miyata continues, saying "I'm sorry", reaction-shot to Iwanaga. Iwanaga later tells sis "I love" Miyata. After others leave, Miyata says, “I'm sorry....Shouldn't we consider BREAKING UP?" Near the end, then, Iwanaga says "...take a break".
So it's Miyata who initiates the word "break", as well as not trusting Iwanaga's advice, a person who has just said he loves Miyata.
Love is lovelier the second time around Just as wonderful with both feet on the ground It's that second time you hear your love song sung Makes you think perhaps that love, like youth, is wasted on the young
Love's more comfortable the second time you fall Like a friendly home the second time you call Who can say what brought us to this miracle we've found? There are those who'll bet Love comes but once, and yet I'm oh so glad we met The second time around

"The Second Time Around"
Love is lovelier the second time around
Just as wonderful with both feet on the ground
It's that second time you hear your love song sung
Makes you think perhaps that love, like youth, is wasted on the young
Love's more comfortable the second time you fall
Like a friendly home the second time you call
Who can say what brought us to this miracle we've found?
There are those who'll bet
Love comes but once, and yet
I'm oh so glad we met
The second time around
