I saw him in HK back in FEB, he looked really different than the KARL TING a few years ago, I guess he like many singers noawaday felt the pressure to look good and like those K pop stars and had his nose " fix"....the face shape does look a bit different too....I almost didnt recognize him if not for his voice...

You know, it is NORMAL for actors to star in their company's drama, it is NOT no choice!!! many dramas made in this company also use their own actors to lead ( if you check their history) and they often produced GOOD QUALITY drama and the fact that they choose SHEN YUE to lead means they truly see her potential, the comic right was bought in 2021 and it is a very popular WEBTOON in KOREA, those CNETZ are ????? you don't judge how good a drama from the words of CNETZ ( they don't even know the facts right, some are even black fans, comments from social medias are to be trusted?? I think you read too much and have to much time reading something from comments that are mostly biased, many immatured comments as if they know better than the producer and the company. But anyway, it seems like you already drawn conclusion on SHEN YUE from what you got from DOUBAN, XHS, and all those CNETZ comments...some even keep saying she went herself to screen test on all her dramas) , this has been copied and repeated over and over and now people believes that and yet, that was only ONE time that she mentioned in her VS ( which is normal for actresses to do that when they see something they want to try) ...the rest of the roles she got either the producer wants her ( just like comic bang they especially called her phone) or she being shortlisted for the roles and then they will call her up to talk over...it is often like that.....so, don't always base your opinion on WHAT YOU READ.....what you read are from those people WHO ARE NOT EVEN AN INSIDER...(

So you see now many of the pairing is between newer actresses with more veteren actors, or veteren actresses with actors that has been promoted from second lead to first lead...not everyone is as lucky to be in an agency such as CHEN KUN agency, he has great connection, also remember CHEN FEI YU ( his dad a big director so despite the backlashes from sleeping with his fan) he gotten a fair amount of good dramas a year later ..right?? if he is not the director son, I think we wont hear from him again. SO, connection very important. SHEN YUE, is already proves herself to be a contender in this messy entertainment biz or else they won't be these many S+ VS, and still leading quite a good quality dramas ( and her co stars even not a traffic actor but are actors that are being heavily promoted and for her to lead them and for the production company to choose her, meaning they truly see her as someone that can....many other actresses from SMALL COMPANIES don't even have such deal)...

Just ignore this person. She thinks she know how this industry work, my brother has businesses in CHINA and he knows I like SHENYUE so he did ask how this entertainment things works, they ( the big bosses) said CONNECTION ( big companies can get their less popular actresses/ even newer actresses to star in a drama and be paired with some " traffic star" because either they invested in the drama or they negotiated some deal eg " you let my actress in this, then next projects I will invest or I will let my actors to be in your projects"....so, you see...why some actors/actresses they filming endlessly ( do you think they not tired??)...it is all related.

actually when there was rumour about him as THIRD lead and another WANG as second lead ( which is still filming other drama ) just coming from one person and but it was actually no official confirmation then one person spreaded it out to another and everybody thought it was FACT. But really, the WANG here is another WANG and not the WANG they mentioned ( although both are fr same company)..

I think he is perfect for the character, not because I am his fan ( I am SHEN YUE fan) but I have seen him ( from interviews, pressed conference) and he has this very chisel looks and very bright smiles, he can go either way, he can make himself look really ROUGH with bad boy vibes or he can make himself look really CHARMING...( unfortunately the pictures of him that they posted online usually taken from the ROLE he played, not the best Photos of him)

Haters, people don't get the story, people that watch it on YOU TUBE ( a few days ago I found some illegal episodes on YOU TUBE, with really dull color quality and not proper translation and also the a bit compress ratio too, I don't know if the person still uploaded it, but really, if I am the director and saw my hard work being displayed in such unproper manner, the color so dull and dark ....)..and also, some can also give rating but not watching it for more than 10 minutes and maybe NEVER...

I saw some comments and found that some just did not get the story ( and I wonder if they watched in on proper channel and set it at HD version, the filter is movie-like the story and the dialog between the leads were just making this one special yet some said they did not get it and hate the filter??? Do they get a proper translation?? Because in CHINA almost everyone like the filter, the story, the essence of the story, and praising the team for such a great quality drama. Now I find that rating here no longer can be trusted, next time I also wont watch base on rating anymore, anyone can just leave ONE star even without watching it....such quality drama, excellent cinematography...

this show focus is not on that ( but they still have to shot that scenes as it is her parttime job), besides, focus is also not on how funny or not funny because this isn't about the JOKE ( it is just a setting to depict how the connection between her and LY and how they met), besides, too funny a joke will not be that good ( in case it offended a certain people or too sensitive then gotten in WEIBO HOT LIST and being scolded for it, so to stay safe )

I saw someone watched on laptop too and they said great, no complain, one from Singapore watched on her mobile and she said she loves the color and very movie like, so maybe you make sure your setting in on 1080....try go to setting if there is and set it a 1080

of course there are some already said it is a flop ( because they said only 19000 and not yet 20000)...but there are always such people ( often just use first day to compare to other dramas....they did not factor in it is the first day, and it is against too many BIG dramas , they just look at NUMBER and they posted it...

indeed, and I also saw a few on CHINSES XHS platform even intentionally posted this " watching 15 minutes and just could not continue", she even said why they made LY face looked so one dimentional and ugly, and why making it such a suspense and moody in the first few minutes and YY pronunciation bad ( so you see....they pretend they are FANS and then say really want to watch it but can't continue).....but so far most comments has been GREAT and just a selected few who often started their post with similar " topic"...

HD version really make the scenes look very very beautiful, the director is a very good in cinematography so of course everything to him has to be beautiful...the scenes, setting, color, moods...etc

did you watch in on HD??? on my TV it look really good...very movie like, the clarity is like watching HBO drama in HD version

if you watch first episode, the scene about him as a kid said something about his past that leds him to have this illness that he can't help, that is why he try to go to talk show hoping for him to " FEEL" anything, to be able to SMILE, to be able to has more emotion...he has this illness that he only see non colorful world, he try all methods ( his shrink sent him funny movies, and suggested him to go watching TALK SHOW...that is what happen in first episode)....hence he go...and seeing this GIRL that has pretty SMILE he feel strange, coz his world is often BLACK AND WHITE, DULL...but her smile make him feel different...this is what first episode try to convey
