Cheng Lei is made for this era type of dramas!
My first Republican era drama and does not disappoint. Loving the costumes and sets which reminds me of the VR games that were played in Love Between the Lines!
I’m a fan of Cheng Lejt but have only ever watched him in historical dramas. I must say he is oozing charisma in this genre. As Fifth Master Yu, he comes from a world of power and privilege. It is clear that there are unresolved issues between his father and him which I am keen to understand.
Xu RuoHan who I watched once in The Best Thing also looks very suited in this particular era. I can already feel the chemistry between the ML and FL, if I dare say better chemistry between her and Cheng Lei is better than Zhang Ling He. She is clearly worlds apart from Fifth Master Yu but their worlds are about to collide.
