finally a non toxic historical drama... can anyone recommend me some more? only cdramas cause i've probably seen…
Hi there, I can give you some titles :

-> Ancient Detective, my first drama and first c-drama ever, it was really a good choice to begin with. The bromance is insane, you just want to hug them since they are so cute, the romance is quite interesting and not toxic/annoying like you can see in some historical dramas, and the plot... Really good until the end !

-> Decoded : I don't know if you want only about a certain period, so I will also give you some about republican era. The dramas about this era are so interesting, really, so if you like them, I can recommend you more. Decoded is really good, and even if this one is more about action and so on, there is also some "thinking" scene since it's about decoding a code during war. It's kinda interesting and the character development is really good. The only flaw I think, it's the "romantical end" but it's still a happy ending I guess.

-> Handsome Siblings : Quite interesting but I was waiting so much from this drama so you should have less expectations than I had ahah. But I still had good times watching it !

-> Ice Fantasy : One of the best historical drama with fantasy ! I watched it like three or four times already, it's really a must-watch ! The sequel is not as interesting as the first series, but it's still interesting to watch it tho !

-> Legend of Awakening : it was okay, nothing that special but still okay to watch if you like historical dramas

-> My roommate is a detective : a freaking must-watch if you love republican era period ! I really loved it but I'll be honnest, I barely watched the romance scene, it was too much for me but still I really enjoyed the drama

-> Psych-Hunter : Same as the one above, a must-watch. I looooooooved it so much. There is too romance too (but if you love romance that's okay I guess), but in the novel version there is not as much romance as in the drama version. But I liked both ! I really loved the plot and the end is quite interesting ahah !

-> The birth of the Drama King : weeeell, don't wait for something you should have your brain on with this one ahah. It's really a brainless watch ! But a good one, I really laughed so hard but as the same time, the plot was good !

-> The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty : Just a perfect must-watch, nothing less ahah. I really fell in love with this drama, watched it more than four times already. The plot is awesome, the actors are awesome, everything is awesome in this drama ahah

-> The Vigilantes in Masks : it's okay to watch but the end is too smooth. But the friendship is really great and the character development is somehow interesting

Go Ahead
@Eucharm @zOop Even if I really loved Go Ahead and fell in love with this drama, this one doesn't give the same vibes as Father is Strange gives you. You should maybe try My Unfamiliar Family (it is shorter and less heartbreaking than Father is Strange but it's really good and the end is so cute !), All About my Mom (I don't remember everything about this one but I know that I kinda liked it), Mr Back (it's more focused on the father-son relationship, it's really a must-watch about fatherhood !), Ugly Alert (long drama and the story is really family-oriented, it was really great !), Bitter Sweet (it's really good and family-oriented), Wonderful Days (a must-watch about family), Love Family (really good too !).

I tried to give you titles where there are sisters in the drama but I also have some recommendations, if you want, about family-oriented dramas that don't forcefully contains sisterhood. I hope you'll enjoy my recommendations ! If you wanna know how I noted them, you can check my watchlist or ask me ! Wishing you happy days~

"Too much romance", I don't know what you were watching but it definitely wasn't Sisyphus. There was hardly any…
Think before talking please. I definitely better watched this drama than you did, obviously... And your "look at the genre before watching a drama"... you can keep it for yourself, it's unnecessary. But you seem to not know how to read so nevermind I guess

Did this also have too much romance for you?
I'm warning you, if you only made an account to annoy me, I'll report you. I don't have time to waste for someone like you, sorry

"Too much romance", I don't know what you were watching but it definitely wasn't Sisyphus. There was hardly any…
I don't know what you were watching, but it definitely wasn't Sisyphus. If you didn't even understand the romance in this drama, so you didn't even watch after the first episode ahah. Romance is not always "being kissy and cringy", there are different types of romance... Your comment is really unnecessary and useless, because if you read the whole conversation just above your head, you can fully understand why I said that...

And, no, most of Kdrama are not built around romance, sorry. It's not because you only watch romcom or romance that it's true for every single drama... I watched like more than 300 dramas (not only kdramas tho, and I'm only counting these that are in dramalist, because if I count every drama that I watched, it's like... More than 1000 (not only kdramas, but I'm only counting asian dramas, not western, so from Korea, China, Japan and Thai mostly) - and I'm only counting these I remember so...), and more of them are not only built around romance or not only about romance... So just before being unnecessary, just read the other comments in the discussion or just think before talking please... And, the writers and so on add the genre "romance" in their own drama, Sisyphus... So, saying there is no romance... Go say that to the ones who worked on this drama ahah. So yes, I don't know what is your definition of "romance", but if romance for you is only being cringy, kissy and so on... You didn't watch many dramas or kdramas...

And if you only made your account to bash me... That's really sad, sorry.

Is the drama really good ? Because I watched the first episode and the acting is not really good and the action scenes are... really bad. I mean, I have the feeling to watch a 2000-2010 drama and not a drama that aired in 2020...

No subtitles yet? How is it that some shows (some really crappy) get practically instant subtitles, while other…
Some people say that if you sign up in their app, you can ask for someone to sub the drama (but I don't know it is true to be honest)

Also, many chinese dramas are not sub just because they are chinese (the fanbase is smaller than korean one for example, so less fans who want to translate I guess) or they have slow tranlastion (same reason tho, less people to translate so it's more difficult). So, let's hope for someone to sub it ! Or let's watch it while learning mandarin ahah (to be honest, since I'm learning mandarin, I'm trying to watch drama in raw so I can learn new words because they tend to put mandarin subtitles so it's cool, you can do the same if you are eager to and if you really wanna watch dramas that don't exist with subs !)

You know how the actor's look??? The photo here seems a little blur image and i couldn't judge the actor's look…
They do air bromance and so on, but it's restricted. And I was saying that mostly because of covid, all production are slowing down. So, restriction + covid, we still can wait for watching most of them ahah

Yes but I'm afraid that the most of them will maybe be cancelled or suspended during a long time...

Yeah, that's a pity that many productions have been delayed or suspended because of covid... Many bromance dramas are still on production because of that and that's a pity because many of them were planning to be aired this year... We just can wait I guess

I never watched a drama where Fu Xin Bo acted too, but if you google him you can find some pictures.
At first I didn't like Go Ahead too, but after struggling for watching the first few episodes... It becomes intense. I don't especially liked the romance but I really loved how they depict the family relationships, the struggles of growing-up and so on. And Steven Zhang was playing my favorite character, the other male lead wasn't that outstanding but the character of Steven Zhang was perfectly imperfect and human, his scenes were really indredible to watch and it became more and more intense in the last episodes
