hmm I think I might get what you mean.. I wanted to like this too since I don't see much makjang/melodramas nowadays…
Yeah, that's actually true. Like, the directing is really great, they made great directing choices and so on but... the writting behind is poor as hell and it's just superficial. Like, maybe I'm mean when I say that, but I really had the feeling to watch something empty...
No bromance...three husbands who are each cheating on their wives who all work together
Ah ? In some comments I read, that's the wives who cheat on the husbands ? x'D But thanks for the answer tho. I will watch it if I have nothing to watch maybe ahah. Not really found of cheating-plot drama but after having watched V.I.P. I tought about giving this kind of drama a shot.
Actually that was pretty much better than people said in the comments. I dont' understand why there is so much toward this drama. I mean, that's one of the rare drama where I didn't hate all the female cast/actresses to be honest... Even if some elements don't make sense (hell, that's a drama ahah), the story was quite realistic and cute. That's not a breathtaking drama or anything, but that's okay to watch.
I mean, maybe people don't like it because it's realistic ? I mean, people often love so much stupid rom-com where the story is written with feet and where all the female cast is bitchy, but I often notice that people don't like/hate drama that are really realistic or where the story is not like "break-up - bitch move - cheat - break-up - and so on" during like the whole drama... That's sad actually. I can't understand people who love pointless drama where there is nothing to watch but just bitch characters but dislike that kind of drama where the story is simple okay but still well-written and touching... That's really something I can't get...
But yeah, if you love realistic drama with cute relationship and real characters, this drama is really a nice one. That's not the "drama of the year" but it is still worth the watch !
Oh and "worst ending scene ever" -> I don't really agree. I mean, the end is predictable but still it's cute. The writers didn't make it "too much" and they chose a simple end but an efficient one ! And actually it ends the drama well because the end reminds of why the romance begun, so it's nice (even if it's cheesy tho ahah)
I think it was about the choices we make for ourself but also because of the others. The way we choose or not…
You're welcome ! Aaaand, after a night of sleeping, I thought of that : the end can express the meaning of making ourselves our own choices, and facing the consequences of them at the end or when we can't escape their consequences. I don't know if this is the message of the writers, but that's the only thing I can think of x')
I liked this but I don't get it. What message was the director/writer trying to send?
I think it was about the choices we make for ourself but also because of the others. The way we choose or not our own life, what we do about that. And actually, it's just about a life-story. I mean, everything is understandable (somehow) because it's a picture of life and struggles. But the only thing I can't get is the end and sometimes why they add the character of Kayo ; I mean, that's understandable for some scenes but not for every scenes she had. So yes, I guess the message here is just painting a realistic life with struggles and choices, even if these last are not everytime good.
Oh gosh. That's happening ! I hope it will not be a disapointment tho... And that we will have Song Geon Hee again ! (But in the other hand, if we have it, it means that they didn't find his bones... but still ! This drama without Thomas, it will not be the same...). I really hope that it will be as good as the first season, or even better (but I'm not sure that it's possible ahah)
Can someone please tell me where you watched it and what apps. I can’t find it anywhere. It’s driving me mad.
Like most of chinese dramas, it hasn't been sub, so you only can watch it without subs. Maybe if you pay for a vip-pass at youku (original network), you can generate auto-subs, but I'm not sure. Still, I think you can ask for subs if you have an account at youku websites/apps (but still, I'm not sure since I don't use this platform). Or if you have some mandarin skills or patience skills ahah, you can translate it yourself I guess. But you can find the raw episodes in every dramas websites
Just to discuss something that have been said in a below comment... A character being annoying does not mean that the actress/actor are doing a good job... I mean, when I feel annoyed by a character it's either I don't like the actress/actor or either I just don't like the writting/character. When a character is well-played, for vilains/vilainess, you want to kill them but you feel "entertainment" and you're not "annoyed" by the character (yeah, sound like a psycho, sorry...). But here some examples : I "love" hating the tutor in Sky Castle, but I hate/was annoyed by the female lead in Beyond the Cloud or even in Queen of Ambition (yeah, I try to give some examples of vilainess that are also leads).
"I won't say she's the villainness, more like a bitter rival in everything, e.g. love, power, position, etc." and the answer : "That's the traditional "villainess", then it is intentional for her to be annoying. It means the actress did a great job" like hell I disagre... If that is the definition of a vilainess, so this person is only watching makjang/rom-com or things like that... (that's why I tried to quote some "true" vilainesses").
I wanted to like this drama because the acting is so impressive, the direction of each episode is fantastic, the colors/atmosphere are really insane... But I feel like I watched 15 episodes of emptiness and the only episode that satisfied me was the last one because that's the only one that makes me feel something... That's a pity. I mean, this drama is perhaps really good but for me, it's a real disapointment... Maybe I should give it another try ? I don't know.
My issue is that they told us one thing then did another. They told LR that LY would be reincarnated, that they…
Yeah, I totally understand ahah ! I'll be honest, when I watch something that doesn't really interest me but I still have a little bit of hope, I skip some scenes or at least I do something random at the same time ahah.
My issue is that they told us one thing then did another. They told LR that LY would be reincarnated, that they…
I don't want to drop it because I never drop a drama (yeah, that's kinda aweful sometimes huhu). And even if the story is going nowhere, the actors are somehow good and it's still okay to watch I guess. I'll not love it like I thought I would love it but maybe the end will be good/worth to watch (or at least, I still have this little hope ahah). Let's keep hope ahah !
That's your opinion and you're free to hold it. However, after watching My Mister (which is a great drama), and…
I never said that we should feel sympathy toward them. I mean, I know how adultery, cheaters and so on can destroy a life, I'm well aware of that. I just say that forgiving or trying to understand the other is sometimes a better way than trying to destroy their lives. I din't watch "My Mister" but I did watch "V.I.P.". I will not spoil you this drama if you didn't watch it, but if you did watch it or plan to watch it, I guess it will better explain what I mean.
"They already have wealth that the rest of us can't even dream of, they can afford this punishment." I really don't agree with that... We can't judge of the worth of a person's life just because of their wealth. People can be healthy but just make only one mistake then having their life destroyed and in the other hand, you can have people who always did/do bad deeds but never get caught... If we only judge people because they have/don't have money... Damn, the world is really a mess then.
I just try to say that we should just keep our humanity. And that we don't have the right to judge/sentence them because we don't know them, we just know their "celebrity face". The only people who have the right to choose if they forgive them or not are their family/closest ones. Sending death threats, insults, cyber-harrasing and so on... It's just being trash and worst people than them. That's losing our humanity. And I just say that we should not lose our humanity...
My issue is that they told us one thing then did another. They told LR that LY would be reincarnated, that they…
Yeah I totally understand what you mean with the filters. But I think I get used to it now... Now I just wait for it to finish to be aired then I think I'll watch it in one go because I know that if I just watch it during it is airing, I'll lost my interest during the wait for another episode, since I'm really disapointed...
Kim Seo Hyung wasn't eligible since her drama was eligible last year. this year's baeksang is for dramas premiering…
Yep, like I said I never watch this kind of show, so I didn't know, so thank you for your explanation ! Oh ? That's a pity that she lost, she really deserves an award for at least her role in Sky Castle !
Nobody knows was good her acting was crazy good I agree
Yeah, Nobody Knows is really one of my favorite drama ! But if I have to choose in which she was the best, it's still Sky Castle I guess. I mean, she really well-portrayed her character in this drama ! And in Nobody Knows, she was less breathtaking (even if she was !). But if I have to choose which drama I prefere, it's still Nobody Knows ahah.
Damn, I don't really follow the awards or things like that (because I'm lazy and it's not something I really like) but I read this article out of curiosity AND, just one question, why didn't they nominate "Kim Seo Hyung" ? I mean, it's rare for me to like an actress but she is really one the few actresses I really love. She is so amazing and she deserves an award for Nobody Knows (2020). Even if, let's be honest, she was way better in Sky Castle ! (But it's a 2018's drama so...)
I mean, I don't know if the lists here are complete or not, but I think some other actors deserve to be nominees. Like, I can see it's okay to not be okay and flower of evil for examples but I'm sad to not see other 2020's drama that deserve to be watch by more people actually. But I guess that's normal, they only choose those that have the bigger number of watchers. But yeah, still, some dramas and actors really deserve to be more "enlighten".
(PS : like I said, I never watch/follow this kind of things, so this is just my comment out of my very personal opinion)
It was really a good surprise. I don't know why people are disapointed with this one... I mean, okay it's a bit cliché sometimes, but that's a drama from 2009 so... Kinda normal if we contextualized the period ahah. And actually, it was refreshing and the relationships were really interesting. I generally don't like the female lead, but in this drama, she was okay because she had the role of an older sister (and even if sometimes there was romance, it was still okay I guess). And the end is really refreshing and satisfying.
AND THE BROMANCE. Just insane because you can watch the evolution of their relationship, and it's so good and satisfying.
And the OST is really great, even for an "old" drama.
Somehow yes. But if you want the main couple to remain together, no. But it's a happy ending for every characters I guess (if you wan understand the last scene). It's a human and realistic ending. It really is really worth the watch. I don't like that kind of drama but this one was a really good surprise. But yeah, you will want to kill people watching it... And you'll cry for sure
I mean, maybe people don't like it because it's realistic ?
