I never said sexy, but sexually suggestive. And I never said that XL’s treatment of XY was sexy either. If anything, I found the abuse very disturbing. Ive also watched a ton of Cdramas and I love the subplots and the innuendos because they require a nuanced eye .

Episode 14 30:37 was quick that you can definitely miss it but her head motions where very suggestive. Also I love how innocent everyone is here. But I couldn’t stop seeing the show as some sort of torture p*rn. The beatings, the neck thing, the sadomasochist relationship with the fl and Xiang Lou, the angles of her face while being beaten, her being gagged while being beaten. Like omg, there’s so many instances.
I just came here to say that Kim Hye Soo knocked it out the park in the drama. She’s so charismatic that’s it’s hard to draw your eyes away from her when she’s on screen. Every moment is felt from her heart wrenching scenes to her warm but strong depiction of the Queen. Also the makeup artists deserves their flowers as well because she had a glow that seemed like it was emanating from within in every shot.
The show is also very well written and directed. The visuals are stunning and you can feel the humanity in each character. I just wished that Grand Prince Gyeseong had more of a story line because he is baby and I wanted to follow more of his journey.
I was so unprepared for how devastating the ending was. Tissues in hand right now, I can’t stop crying. It’s a really beautiful story despite how sad it is. Now I’m going to watch Forever and Ever to heal my broken heart.
I was watching this and GOT at the same time, and was thinking how great it was that SA scenes aren't prevalent in Cdramas. And then a couple of episodes later, they have that unnecessary scene. I hope this doesn't become a trend in future shows.
