Jiang Mu's parents divorced but the dad is her biological dad. Bio dad left china and took Jin Zhao with him. Jin Zhao is not related to any of them. His parents were in an accident and passed away. Jin Zhao's dad was friends with Jiang Mu's dad. Jin Zhao knew from the start they weren't siblings. As for Jiang Mu, as far as I understand, she was made aware before she left to go find him.
