So far it seems like the aftermath is slowly becoming more apparent so I don't think they meant to give anyone a romanticized idea about the encounter. I think the scene how it was created was meant to show a gray area, because it shows the conflict Porsche will internally feel. Not every situation will clear cut look like an obvious violation, I actually appreciate that they try to show that it can look very differently from afar than what you experience inside when something like that happens to you. Consent and non consent isn't always as simple as saying yes or no. Kinn clearly violated him since he was in no position to consent, but Porsche remembers the parts where he seemingly did participate. Thus making him confused as to how he is supposed to feel. And if he is validated for the feelings he has, besides struggling to find an answer in whether there was a genuine attraction there for this to happen (probably feeling like he allowed it to happen to him)or if he did something he genuinely would never want.

How many times does he need find out that Lian knows pretty much everything about him, before he realizes.. OMG Lian knows everything about me.. and he still wants to marry me. Kuea's brain just can't compute lmao

I love analyzing characters so I'm super eager to know how he feels too. I think he mostly feels confusion between himself and what it means to him to have been with man since it is shown that he presumably is straight (mostly because of the relationship talk in the sauna makes me think he has never thought about being with a man) than the layer of feeling violated because he wasn't in the right headspace to even consent and make such a choice/ also seeing Kinn on a regular basis afterwards. But in his memories he probably remembers the parts were it seems like he is actively participating and instigating it a little himself. So you get to this point of conflict where you remember yourself making the 'choice' but also not having been able to actually choose. Which could even make him wonder about whether he has a desire for Kinn or if it genuinely is something he didn't want which would turn into a trauma point. But even when this kind of trauma happens people can romanticize it and decide to belief they willingly did it in order to cope. Remembering it so clearly makes it even worse imo because it insinuates that you were at least somewhat conscious. Knowing you are conscious when that happens to you and instead of pushing away, you are the one participating is super confusing and conflicting since it almost takes away the feeling of validation for feeling violated. I'm interested to see how deep they'll go with this or if it stays kinda surface level like some other shows, where they will glaze over it.

I just finished ep 5, I'm happy they toned down his attitude! It definitely made the rest a better watch. Looking back I understand that they tried to go for a bratty-to-serious attitude where he progressively becomes a better bodyguard. I think, like someone else mentioned that it would have made more sense if they stuck to the original beginning from the book (since it gives background to why he behaved that way I was told, i never read it myself), which is probably what caused his actions to look a lot less understandable. But I'm super eager to see more now :)

I'm going to binge the next few eps tomorrow, maybe I'll change my mind after that! So far there has been no backstory yet which indeed always helps sympathize with a character more. I personally don't mind a characters flaws if they are explained well :)

For me it's more so that it feels like he doesn't take it seriously. He talks back, pees in the fountain, drinks at the job but ultimately he took the job to help his little brother have a good life. So I would assume he would have been a lot more serious about making sure they were pleased enough with his work to not only keep the job, stay alive but also since if he does mess up, whose to say they won't mess with his brother. But since it's only the first 2 eps, i thought it might change

I'm only 2 eps in since I really tried to wait until the full series was out but couldn't. But I'm SO confused... Everyone is so excited, but so far it's been hard to like Porsche at all which makes watching it difficult. (probably because I would have punished him way more already lololol) Is the series getting better in the next eps? Still want to give it a shot
