I really don't like these types of tropes where the leads have a misunderstanding and they torture each other especially the FL being tortured by ML and then they fall in love again. I don't know about you but I'm not the martyr type. Even if I know later that this guy just had a bad misunderstanding with me and yet had me in misery under him well most of the times, I don't want to be with him even after the misunderstandings have been resolved. Cause after the catastrophic angst and hate, they already hurt each other badly to the point of near death. And what, they still will go back to that partner who hurt them badly? Isn't that foolishness already?

I can agree that the trust has been broken and communication is null. He didn't even explain why he hated her and just thought after she saves him, she can accept him like before? They are both making a fool of themselves.

Ep. 8 7:56 And I do wonder when he carried her bridal style and the FL should be unconscious, but why were her hands still around the MLs? Shouldn't they be hanging cause she's unconscious, right?

How many times does the FL get sleeping powder here? She never learned. At least she should learn to counter it or learn from the physician how to make medicine or poisons. In the end, she just showed 1 martial prowess with smoke screen/sleeping smoke... And she learned to use that once too.

I hate the ML for not telling the FL of the schemes of the people whom she trusts and holds dear (like her brother and their bodyguard). Cause he tries to protect her but keeps it from her which is frustrating! Other people are using each of them to hurt them both too. Gosh! Full of misunderstandings that could have been avoided with a deep meaningful conversation.

I really wonder how the ML became a general... He has a very thin and small frame like a boy. How did he become a battle worn general at all? But his voice became low as that of Val Kilmer when he becomes Batman...

Not that Good

Story: This is a Cdrama full of misunderstandings. And they never bother to tell or explain at all. There are some confusing parts. Probably due to the cuts and lack of explanation.

In Episode 9, I wonder where they get mortar and pestle all of a sudden in a forest just like in other Cdramas...

There's just something bothering me here. In Enlightened life, Goddess Tian Huan is the daughter of Tian Hao. How can she be the sister of Siying as well? Although they used a different actress, that in itself is kind of contradicting with the whole story. Cause Siying hated Tian Hao. Ep. 36 48:40. Did she become the elder sister already after going through the Sun Quadripod? Shouldn't both of them be in the demon's lair then? I'm confused.

I wonder why Susu didn't clarify how both her fathers died. And who really took the evil bone in the first place.

Oh yeah there are so many blood spitting on this that you see them in almost every episode.

Acting: The actors are good. They deliver well but not that perfect.

This is the first time I saw the actor LXY. For me he's not that handsome especially when I first saw him here. He can play the devil and a good guy. It's just his voice sometimes becomes too mellow even if it needed to be strong.

Bai Lu - I first saw her in the Untouchable Lovers and The Legends. And she was really great in them that I became a fan and started looking for her other shows. She really looks good in red and black. Though here, her screams of angst and hurt are just the same as then. I mean it's nothing out of extraordinary. So I guess I've seen them already. Though, I've also watched Arsenal Military Academy which she was also good there. Story of Kunning Palace is also one of her good works. Although in Song of Youth, she looks older than her fellow actor so I didn't watch that.

The actor who played Ye QingYu is cute and handsome. Other actors: Ye BingChang is really quite the antagonist. You'll hate her and pity her too. They used quite good looking actors and actresses. Good casting.

Regarding OST, I only remember 1 good song - Only You by Shuang Sheng. Love Between Fairy and Devil has better songs than this. Though it's story has boring parts too. At least that has a better ending though.

This is truly funnyyy!!! First episode is cracking me up so much! With her repeating every event with her marriage and then dying in every way possible and yet she persistently tries to avoid every death trap there is.

Even the music is up to the humor. It blends with her situation and makes it more relatable. Nice and catchy OST.

And I was even hesitant to start watching this before... But it turned out okay and good.

In Ep. 3 where FL fell into the water? What is this a river/sea or a small pond in the palace??? Why is it so deep?

The Waning River Crescent masters are more handsome than the ML - especially the playboy ShangGuan He (2nd master Ep. 6 8:36 but he squeals like a girl. It's ugly! Hahaha... Ep. 7 35:50) and the aggressive one Po Yun Long (3rd master Ep. 6 6:44).

2ML Chu GuiHong is also beautifully handsome. But not a marriage prospect here. Cause he's more focus on other things other than romance. And why did he become so bad in the end? He's like a crazy maniac killing people without any guilt.

Duan ShanHu (4th master Ep. 6 10:55)

The 3 masters of Waning River Crescent endured so much hardships and torture and they seem to be just fine after... Hoo!

Li ShiLiu (Chief Master Ep. 6 14:49) also ML Nan Heng - the 7th prince.

Just that in the latter part when they were in Waning River Crescent, it's obvious who was protecting FL and yet she didn't even suspect that it was the ML who was there?

Ugh! Frustrating that they made the FL a little stupid especially about explaining about words like script, protagonist, etc. in Episode 12. Can't she just say she's not from that world and that world is a story and all of them are characters and they all have their different roles. 🤷 Simple... Well, if she did maybe the story is finished by now. Why only in Ep. 27 did she manage to say that?

I'm kinda hating the FL Song YiMeng/OG Song XiaoYu for not giving the ML a chance to explain or redeem himself because of the notion that he will harm her as the FL in the end... Heartless! Why did they do that to FL's character??? ML is already making amends and didn't even know about the plot that binds them. Oh this is too frustrating!

Btw, I just noticed she has an accent. Not the typical one though.

It seems the writer really stretched the limit of how long will the patience of one character lasts. But if that were in real life, the ML really doesn't have any reason for him to fall for the FL who really wanted to kill him. So what's the point of all this then? They really made a fool of the leads here..

Wow! It turned dark when the conclusion neared. But at least it ended happily. How the people joined them in their battle touched me and even made me cry...

Ah.. I'll just note the missing elements first. But probably the first few episodes was because it was told by a story teller that they embellished it with some elements that are not there i. e. The white tiger. In the first few episodes, we see it fighting with Mu QingGe but in reality, it didn't even appear based on Su YuShui's recollection.

Mu QingGe's sister is really selfish. Her elder sister already gave everything for her and yet she still wanted more... She wanted to become the crown princess to get the love of SuYu (the crown prince), and wanted to be powerful like her sister and gain everything, so she wanted her sister dead. What an evil sister! She's hopeless! And in the end, she just lost her mind for missing the one who truly love her - Wang Shui Zhi - a previous disciple of Mu QingGe.

I really wonder why these Cdramas chooses FL's who aren't that pretty. Cute yeah. I guess it's her bubbly personality and her seriousness to act like she seems mature and innocent at the same time. But in terms of beauty, others surpass her sadly. Other women here are prettier than her.

Tiu JiuYuan - the female partner of Wei Jiu of Scarlet Sect is beautiful (even her younger self). Even Yu Tong, the female guard of Su YuShui, is pretty. Xue RanRan's friend is also cute.

Good that the FL is smart as well as the other characters. I'd love to have her pouch which can hold even a human. 😅

The crown prince Su Yu has his own charm. Liang WuMeng looks handsome too.

I wonder why these Immortal Cultivators are very easy to deceived. They still believe this vicious and treacherous woman whom they believed to be Mu QingGe. They were already given a lot of circumstances to doubt her. First when she took one of the elder's power core and during one of the trials. Now she is deceiving them again and they still believed her wholeheartedly?

When Su Yu Shui lost his memory after he sealed the Spiritual Spring, his voice changed and I hate it. Why is his voice altering? Was he sick or was that from a different voice actor?

Well for all that it's worth, what are the damn immortals doing when they know that a fallen immortal is wrecking havoc in the mortal world? Are they all sleeping??? Well that answers my question. But aren't they even more powerful than the mortal cultivators???

Well somehow a good story. All the elements fit into one big conspiracy made by Dun Tian - a powerful immortal who fell just because he regret not saving his family (wife and 2 daughters) by defeating the Mortal-Demon Lord. He planned everything from the start.

He adopted and trained the 2 sisters Mu QingGe and Mu RanWu to cultivate. He even made Su YuShui into his pawn as the Demon's Child. He also used Su Yu and was pulling strings from the background. All to fulfill his great ambition of crossing the 3 thousand realms and finding his family again. But what he didn't count on was Mu QingGe's good values in helping people, including her own disciple Su Yu Shui, even sacrificing her own life so he wouldn't fall into being a demon and them also falling in love; thus defying him in every turn. Su Yu Shui just realized her sacrifice for her on Ep. 38 during the last few episodes.

Funny but lacking in Romance

At first I think the FL doesn't have many emotions on her face. I only see sadness in her eyes, though she has big eyes. At least in the latter parts, we see that it has somewhat improved.

This a very funny villain. The brother of the ML wanted to get the throne but doesn't want to harm his brother. At least he's a 'good' villain.

And the FL's father too has a dumfounded face during their engagement break off in episode 12. And the funny send and return bethrotal gifts in episode 13. 😅😂🤣

It's a short quick watch per episode. It has humor but somehow I feel it's lacking more romance. And the rebirth was used unli times that it gets redundant already. It's like there's no sense why she has that ability at all.
