Unexpected Surprise!

I still have unanswered questions about this so I hope for season 2 with this cast!!

This story provided a fresh flavor for the BL genre. It was a happy surprise given I had no expectations going into it.
Even the poster wasn’t indicating anything spectacular, yet I really enjoyed it overall.

Written with some supernatural elements, this wasn’t overdone with CGI or other flashy effects. Its simplicity and short length time kept it even paced with a stronger character/story focus.

A sweet tale wrapped up in some confusing elements early on, but definitely evolves and progresses with each episode. While it doesn’t check off every mark for me, the creative writing kept me watching and I could see the real efforts put in.

The handsome cast and some light humor added in made it very enjoyable, so thank you to everyone involved in this production!

Near Perfect!

I say near perfect, because the small issues I had do not take away anything from this adorable series. This is a very well made story that is obviously nurtured from beginning to end in its production.

The flaws…not too much. The last 2 full episodes seemed rushed to wrap it up tidy. Not horribly, but enough to take away from the viewers ability to fully savor the important closures to the plot lines. 1 or 2 extra ep could have helped (but oh, that darn 12 ep limit rule😉). Also, there were a couple of things in the story that were too abrupt or that slightly didn’t make sense. I think that was driven by the rush as well.

So many have waited for Saints return to the BL genre and he did not disappoint. It was so wonderful to see him again, and he picked a wonderful partner to perform with. They had great chemistry which left us wanting more of their personal story. Hope to see them paired in the future!

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable series that I will definitely rewatch. The humor, flow, casting and chemistry worked like magic to tell a genuinely top notch story.

Different concept

Instead of having a typical storyline from beginning to end, this series focuses on a specific “bump in the road” of an already established relationship. The characters were from an earlier series, Y Destiny, but you don’t have to watch that to watch this one(though it may help understand their personalities/relationship dynamics a little better).

The series is slow paced all throughout, but Max/Nat still show what good actors they are. While this is not their best series, it is well cast with good production value. The addition of Earth as Madam was perfect casting for a character with attitude. Im sure it was a breeze for him to pull off. I also appreciate the concept they were going for of a short segment in the life of a relationship instead of the full blown story.

That being said, there were issues in executing the final product to the viewers including;

1. never skimp on a kiss scene, and don’t use actors who can’t follow through in this genre. I don’t know if it was the editing, the actors or what happened, but a first kiss should never be filmed like that.

2. The scenes were often cut short, jumping around and leaving a lack of connectivity or explanation. This forced the viewer to fill in the blanks or have a harder time following along.

3. Flashbacks were way over used. Without them this could easily have been 6-8 ep. Viewers do not have chicken memories and do not need a barrage of what they have already just seen or repeated multiple times. That time should have been better spent filming more story, detailed scenes to connect the story better.

4. The dialogue in the personal videos should have been more original in tempo, meaning and style. They became very mundane the more we got.

Overall I’ll be generous because I really liked the cast and concept. It was different from the typical format. I can also overlook some of it because it’s Max/Nat.

Exceptionally done!!!

Where to even begin with a fantastic series of this caliber!
I loved every minute of it, and I was immersed in it 100%!

Starting with such a well written story. The dialogue and interactions were always pertinent to its telling and it flowed from beginning to end. Even the character reactions were realistic to their situations which made it all so believable. So few BL stories have left me clamoring for the next episode and feeling so immersed in it.

The acting was above par by the entire cast. They played their characters very well and I really have to congratulate them all on their achievements here. The two male leads had just the right chemistry and you rooted for them, the bad guys were very detestable, the good guys you’ll care about, but the female lead was so strong in both character and acting that she almost stole the show for me.

I cried for the last 5 episodes just for her pain and almost couldn’t rejoice in the BL couple because she was done so dirty. I would have slapped them both two more times at least and kicked them in the Crown Jewels before letting go of that pain of betrayal. Her reactions were normal for her pain even if you don’t agree with them. I’m glad she could let go of it all to live better. I would have liked to see her with a better ending, with someone who loved, took care of her, and made her his world, to alleviate how I felt of her taking all that on. I guess I’ll have to be content that she was just happiER in the end.

The music didn’t really stand out enough for me(which is usually my focus) so I’ll only rate it as good. The pacing was always moving forward, never boring. I also couldn’t find too many flaws in this. I think the story was written, acted and directed so well I overlooked any of it and feel it’s not worth taking away from the overall value of this series. So I highly recommend this to watch and rewatch again! Congratulations to the entire team on this!!!
