I agree that was more action scenes where she is the hero , but the story is about her becoming a general and equal to her husband … I felt you are too annoyed for her being so strong and I remembered in Chinese history there was a female general which got her place being more capable than many men … maybe if they could make more than 40 episodes they would show more about the marquis fighting in war …
Bai Lu is a huge star now , but they could make a part two as a celebration of 5 years ( in the future) of this drama… I can understand why there so many actors does not want to make a comeback but bai Lu made a lot of important novels a long her career and we deserve a happy ending ….

The ending is rushed, like they did not want to waste more money and time because is only happy ending ……. Anyone can correct if I am wrong , but I believe that there is two parallel realities now , one where we saw what’s happened and another one where ailing changed their fates … in the last one is a happy ending because there is no misunderstanding and probably they made some agreement with the emissionary and baijiusi did not took siling powers from her and they had their mortal son … and the last one their son really died and in the end baijiusi spirit was destroyed so siling could live , but since they were gods , baijiusi spirit reborn again after few thousand years and siling was at his side waiting for his spirit to recover completely to live again ( that is why he remembers everything they lived together … ) … so it is a happy ending because they ended up together in both time lines …. Am I wrong ? I am not sure , but this it for me … waiting for the next drama 🥹😂
