Mo Eum is my favorite character in LND. It's indeed a slice of life, but it betrayed many with just the Rom-Com, including me with just the Rom-Com promotion. I respect your view on the drama. Once again, this review is beautifully written❤️

Yes, that's one of Xu Kai's best works. I loved the chemistry, but I loved the game competitions more. Those games kinda make me want to become a pro player. LOL.

Beautifully and emotionally written. I loved how you described true friendship the most. And you're right, Love Next Door is not a Rom-Com, it's more of a melodrama.

I'm also one of those who gave this a low rating despite the fact that I resonate with Seok Ryu's character. Netflix made the ratings of this drama the way it is. Here are the reasons: One, it's only promoted as a Rom-Com. Two, there's no news about how it's a slowburn. Three, the slice of life is good and all, but it's the main focus of the show, rather than the comedy it actually is. Four, I didn't really witness much character development in this one. Five, the plot didn't have what it takes for a 16 episode drama as is, but the duration of each episode exceeded 80 minutes. Six, LND is a melodrama, but Netflix never adressed this fact about it. It should have been a melodrama, with the tag of slight comedy. Let me stop there.

I gave QOT a 9 because even though their were emotional parts, the comedy was very much present. 65% comedy and 35% emotional aspects. It also delivered in the romance parts. With all this into consideration, I gave it a 9.

I also agree with you about the part of independent and strong women. In this part, Mo Eum is what I'd refer to as a really strong character. She excelled in a field which many men failed. I love her character the most. Independent, a goal getter, determined, and strong woman. That's who Mo Eum is.

I'm not usually a critic, but I just had to say all that. LND could have been the best if all the listed issues were not there. Loved your conclusion by the way, those quotes were spot on.

Yes, I know that too. Hidden Love, The Double, and The Princess Royal are on Netflix. That's great, I won't have to watch it on Youku. I'll use Netflix instead.

Glad you loved it. Many kept complaining about the nude scenes and all. Some only focused on the irrelevant, instead of focusing on the plot and storyline. In my opinion, this is not the best, but it's certainly one of the best. I saw you gave this an 8. That really showed you enjoyed it.

Yeah, you're right. It's going really strong for a drama that's not even two years old. I think it's on its way to surpassing The Untamed.

I'm not sure whether it's on Netflix or not. Perhaps it's because I haven't searched for it cuz Cdramas are really not Netflix thing. They are more famous for K-contents and western contents. It's on iQIYI though. I enjoyed it. It's a master/apprentice drama. I love how love blossomed between Xu Kai's character and his master. Their chemistry was amazing.

My first drama of Xu Kai was Once Upon a Time in Lingjian Mountain. It also became the only drama of Xu Kai I gave a full 10. I haven't rated any of his dramas a perfect score since then. You should try it, it's interesting.

You mean Asernal Military Academy? I had an inkling when I watched it that it's going to be an happy ending. And I was right after all. It did had a happy ending. I think that's the second drama of Xu Kai which I watched on iQIYI few years back.

Like I said, the premise is well worth it. Yes, it's going to have a sad ending, not unless the director decides to change what's written in the novel. I'm not a novel reader though. In any case, I'll have my tissues by my side when I watch the ending. I'm not that empathetic, but you may never know, I might need them LOL.

There's no doubt about that. They had amazing chemistry in Asernal Military Academy. It's been years since I've watched it, but I still remember their natural chemistry.
