Yes, really disturbing. A murderer was basically acquitted. And why? Because he turned himself in, and acknowledged his wrongdoings? Does that make him a saint or does it erase the fact that a child died? What a twisted justice system!!!
I can't imagine how his mother must have felt at that moment.
We share the same views. Yes, song hye kyo is indeed a renowned and famous actress but so is kim nam joo, and I know if nam joo was casted instead of hye in the glory she would had portrayed her character realistically as hye kyo did. And if it was hye kyo that was casted she wouldn't had portrayed her character better than nam joo. As for kim tae hee, I watched jang ok jung, I've also seen the genres of her dramas, and I haven't seen her in any thriller drama which is why I don't think she can act a thrilling drama as well as nam joo can. So, tae hee is a wrong pick for that kind of genre.
Furthermore, it seems the user is just randomly picking actresses with high popularity, and I can't believe he'd make such comments when he doesn't even know the profile of the actress. Check my recent reply to that close- minded user, and you'll see his ridiculous reply.
Yes, Hye Kyo won many awards and so as nam joo. It's obvious this user is ignorant about renowed Korean actresses. Out of the most renowed Korean actress, nam joo is topping the list. He just makes remarks without proper research. What an ignorant psychopath.
Furthermore, seing many positive comments here on MDL and the high trend of this drama has soothed my anger.
It has spike to 9.2 in ratings on IMDB, making it one of the highest rated drama there.
Her acting falls flat for me.Will re-watch it, but doubt my mind will change as she unfortunately doesn't tick…
You are the first person to complain about the acting of an actress as awesome as Nam Joo. But then again, you are entitled to your opinion. Nam Joo and Hye Kyo are among my favorite actresses cuz they possess phenomenal acting skills. And even if hye kyo is the FL the acting wouldn't be better as both are great actress.
Yes, I agree. A suspended sentence? it's my first time hearing such a preposterous thing. A child was killed but what? A suspended sentence? I couldn't believe such level of injustice existed!!!
He's the worse of the worst haters I've ever seen. I wanted to argue with him as I was fuming with anger but upon reading your reply and his reply? I sensed he's a cold psychopath, and like you said it's better to be civil with him. Your comments helped me figure out this user's way of thinking.
And I can't believe he would refute you with highly renowned actress like song hye kyo and kim tae hee? He's indeed the worst misogynist. I can't believe he also said he rewatched those two episodes but wasn't moved. He wasn't moved? I can't believe this user.
While replying him, I noticed he's a dogmatic person, no matter how you try to argue and reason with him he wouldn't budge. He's a closed minded fanatic, no matter what you say he'll not understand. And like you said "his head more solid than a rock which won't break whatever you use on it".
I can't believe he said nam joo looks her age. It's the most ridiculous thing he could come up with, he's indeed a maniac.
Her acting falls flat for me.Will re-watch it, but doubt my mind will change as she unfortunately doesn't tick…
Yes, she's in her 50's. I've watched all the drama you mentioned, and out of all those dramas? My favorite is the glory cause the glory drawn me in right from the first episode as it portrayed great acting. Wonderful world is what I consider a masterpiece drama. Kim Nam Joo's acting in this drama is what I'd call a masterpiece acting cause she portrayed every scene perfectly. What do you suggest her reaction should be during the funeral? Smiling or maybe singing? You are the first person to call her acting mediocre as she's consider one of the best actress of Korea.
I still can't figure out why you'd say this drama is not convincing when the glory is among your pick of favourite drama as it has a similar genre to the glory. I suggest you rewatch those scenes you deemed as mediocre cause you just might change your mind.
I'm yet to read your reply to the user, and I'll do that after typing this reply. That's exactly what I was about to say, he needs to see a psychiatrist cause I don't understand why he would consider nam joo's acting mediocre. I'll definitely reply this user.
And I'm calm but I still must reply him. And like you said he's misogynistic.
Furthermore, his review was the only negative review I saw on the page, and as if that was not enough, he just had to criticize an awesome actress which fueled my anger. If you read my previous reply to that user, you'll see I was trying to be civil but I can't hold it in anymore. I have to give him a piece of my mind.
I agree. I don't think he was sober when writing this and if he were, then he's very ignorant to call the acting of an awesome actress like Kim Nam Joo mediocre. I can't believe his lame excuses, he writes as if he knows the pain a mother goes through upon the loss of her only child. I'm still fuming with anger, and the only thing that can sooth this anger is replying that user.
Why must people criticize this drama for no just reason? He further said, nam joo's character should have turned into an alcoholic if she had truly stopped caring about herself. An alcoholic? I couldn't believe what I read, if you don't understand a drama despite the drama being one of the best, why must you hate the drama?
Their are many users on MDL with twisted minds, and it's infuriating to know that.
Back to the noona romance aspect. It's not as if the ML is underaged, why must people always make it an issue? So, because she lost her son tragically, she must be tied to her husband forever? And for that, she doesn't deserve to be happy? It sound as if the user wants the FL to commit suicide to exhibit her grievance.
I couldn't agree more. I never thought I'd see a review criticizing Nam Joo's acting as she's been acting for more than 2 decades. As soon as I read the review, I was fuming with anger, the review couldn't be more infuriating.
I think the user doesn't know what he's talking about maybe he was drunk typing. I still can't figure out what he was thinking when writing such a nasty review. And he even said Nam Joo's character was overreacting at the funeral of her son! Overreacting? How should she have reacted? Should she have smiled or probably felt happy at the funeral of her only child?
And like you said, I'm not satisfied with the reply I gave the user. I'll also prepared a journal/diary like reply. I can't and mustn't let it slide. And it seems viewers that are fans of the two leads are rating this drama highly cuz it's now 8.1, and that makes it pleasing to see.
Her acting falls flat for me.Will re-watch it, but doubt my mind will change as she unfortunately doesn't tick…
Wonderful world is what I'd call a hidden gem and Kim Nam Joo's acting is awesome. And out of the few Korean actresses in their fifties whose acting skills are top notch, Kim Nam Joo is one of those few. So Wonderful world is what I'd call a brilliant drama. Its one of the few dramas that moved me emotionally.
Yes, you are right, it's going greatly nationwide and internationally.
Furthermore, I never thought I'd see a review calling Kim Nam Joo's acting mediocre, I'd suggest you read the reviews on this drama's page. It's unbelievable how far haters are willing to go just to low the ratings of this drama, even when it's such a wonderful drama.
When I read the review, I couldn't control my anger. I had to reply the user, and I believe you'd do the same when you see the review.
Her acting falls flat for me.Will re-watch it, but doubt my mind will change as she unfortunately doesn't tick…
Her acting might fall short for you but not for me, Kim Nam Joo's acting is one of the best acting I've seen.
She overreacted when looking for her son? If you call that an overreaction, then what do you consider to be normal? It was her child that was missing, so it's only natural for her to be afraid of not being able to hold her son in her arms again. Furthermore, what expression was she supposed to have at her son's funeral or what do you regard as normal?
I don't think you understand the drama, I'd suggest you rewatch it right from the first episode. She almost killed herself while she was grieving but if you are still not satisfied with that, then I'd suggest you switch to another drama.
If you call Kim Nam Joo's acting mediocre, then what do you consider acceptable?
Furthermore, about the rain. You said it's not not a normal reaction. Yes, that's not the normal reaction a normal person exhibits, and that makes her acting realistic as she's a depressed and grieving mother that's yet to overcome the loss of her child. But you seem to have forgotten about her depression, and I'd say that's a normal reaction for a depressed person.Besides, she woke up almost immediately and when eun woo offered her an umbrella she refused. That's enough proof she stopped caring about herself for a while.
We share the same opinion. I suspect a more powerful man of being the murderer, and the supposed murderer might just be a fall guy. Looking back, I don't think a CEO of a construction company can influence the decision of the court.
I agree, I loved the airing schedule of the glory as the wait was bearable. It would have been better if 4 episodes could air a week. And you are right, virtually all kdramas have similar schedules making the wait too long.
I loved the umbrella scene in episode 2, and yes, I'm yet to figure out what their relationship will be. But judging from episode 2, romance is feasible.Wonderful world is now trending on MDL but the ratings has gone down to 8.0. I still can't figure out why haters are bent on giving such a wonderful drama the lowest ratings. How can anyone even hate such a drama?
Just South Korea? That's an unfair thing to say. It's not only South Korea where powerful people mostly gets away with their wrong doing, but the entire world. And like I said earlier, we live in an unfair world.
It's pleasing to see Lee In and Hee Soo smiling happily during the last few minutes of the final episode. And although that's not the the kind of ending I wanted to see but it's nice their weren't many loose ends.
Jo Jung Suk made this drama a lot more interesting and watchable, and as expected from him he always delivers. He's a wonderful actor with excellent and great acting skills. I hope to see him in more dramas, precisely the ones with dark genre and revenge plot.
I've watched now we are breaking up and although it didn't meet my high expectations, its a descent drama. it has 6.9 ratings on MDL but it deserved better.
I'll definitely keep watching, although the wait is toture. Why can't they adopt the schedule of the impossible heir? From the scenes of eun woo, he's indeed been reborn. This drama is a drama you'd want to give 10 stars right from the first episode. And yes, you are right. We have the same views when it comes to noona dramas, and it's rare and fortunate to meet someone that share the same views.
It's indeed a wonderful world but its also an unfair world.ESH son's murderer was given a suspended sentence because he turned himself in when he was obviously guilty. But when Soo Hyun ran the murderer over with a car and also turned herself in, she was given a 7 years sentence? It's indeed a world where powerful people gets away with whatever.
I can't imagine how his mother must have felt at that moment.
