On Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Sep 2, 2025
Someone pointed out that Trin is obsessed with being clean and orderly. For example, when someone spilled a drink on his shoe, he asked Victor to clean it, when he couldn’t stop thinking about Tanwa, he started obsessively cleaning his apartment, at the party his friend took him to, he hated being barefoot, the way he also carefully folds his clothes.

But when he’s with Tanwa, all of that seems to not matter. He doesn’t care about being spotless or perfectly put together for example, he went skinny-dipping in the ocean with Tanwa and came back with sand all over his clothes which is out of character for him. We also see that after being with Tanwa, he often looks different, his hair is messy, his shirt isn’t buttoned up neatly, and overall he looks disorganized compared to his usual self. But instead of looking stressed, he actually looks more relaxed and happy.

On the flip side Tanwa who appears carefree and is always smoking and partying actually looks well put together. His clothes are neat, he looks sharp, he presents himself like someone who has structure. His “messiness” comes out internally in the way he hides his struggles behind a smile. So whilst Tanwa is helping Trin loosen up which makes him more happy, Trin is the steadiness and safe haven for Tanwa to be vulnerable and to grow emotionally.

God I love Shine so much😭 I live for tiny details like this.

How did Tanwa Trin start so well and by mid episode ended up an absolute mess. I did not see them lasting but my gosh I expected it to last a little longer😭

I'm coping and pasting a comment I wrote yesterday hoping to give you a little bit of insight: What I'm going…
I don’t think his background will ever justify dragging out a relationship you are not interested in but okay.

I don’t think so. Like I mentioned in my previous comment, we haven’t actually seen Lert and Naran have any real personal conversations. Aside from that, Naran was shocked that Lert knew where he lived, despite the fact that they’ve been seeing each other for the past two months (someone pointed this out on Twitter) so they clearly don’t know much about each other.

I don’t agree with the take that Dao is only “pretending to date out of love to be different.” I don’t think we know enough about her to make that assumption. What we have seen, though, is her putting genuine effort into the relationship. She’s the one planning dates, trying to spend time with him, and all she gets is him barely giving the bare minimum.
Which leads to the question you asked why doesn’t she just break up with him? Well maybe it’s because she genuinely likes him. Every time they’re together, she’s the one who has to be understanding of his situations, while he barely makes any effort at all.
On the topic of power imbalance yes, it exists, but I don’t think it fully applies here, especially since her family literally wants him to break up with her. And honestly, based on how he acted at the dinner, I don’t think he even cares about that. If anything, it almost feels like he’s staying with her just to spite her family. The more I analyze his character, the less likeable he becomes to me.

My only issue with the cheating storyline is Naran, he clearly doesn’t like his girlfriend, he hates her family. Why is he with her then? Unlike Lert, Naran is not married to her neither is anyone forcing him to be with her so why is he with her. I’m beginning to not like his character especially after he embarrassed her in front of her family.

Edit: I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s only with her because of her connections. In episode 1, I don’t think any journalists or people from lower social class were invited to the party. The only reason he was able to be there was because he went as her plus-one. I think he’s using her for access to those circles.

LERTNARAN have səx after 5 newspaper letters, romanticize cheating, are instantly lovey-dovey even if they're…
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Lert and Naran haven’t had any meaningful conversations, It’s always through those damn letters. Every scene they have together is either kissing or NC scenes. Even the first time they kissed, I felt there was some tension, but it completely fell flat for me once they actually kissed I was left wondering where it even came from. It just felt rushed.

Title Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Spoiler
My thoughts on the love triangle.

Realistically, it makes far more sense for Trin to fall for Tanwa rather than Victor. Tanwa represents the freedom and excitement that Trin yearns for. Trin isn’t just weighed down by everything happening around him he’s also carrying the heavy grief of losing his girlfriend. With Tanwa, though, he can breathe. He doesn’t have to constantly think about the student protests, and the state of the economy. Instead, Tanwa gives him a space where he can simply exist and feel alive again. That’s why we so often see Trin smiling when he’s with Tanwa or even just at the thought of him. Tanwa isn’t just a distraction; he’s a spark of joy in the middle of everything pressing down on Trin.
Victor, on the other hand, doesn’t bring that same energy. While Trin and Victor share a lot in common, Victor acts as a subtle reminder of some of Trin burdens. There’s no spark of adventure there, no sense of excitement. Tanwa, by contrast, is everything Victor is not: reckless, unpredictable, and thrilling. And that’s why Trin’s attraction to him feels realistic. For many people, the pull toward someone who is completely opposite, exciting, different, and a little dangerous can be irresistible.
That said, relationships like this often burn bright but fast. They’re thrilling, but they can also end up crashing and burning. This is why, while many people are worried about Krailert and Naran not lasting, I actually think Tanwa and Trin are the less likely couple to last. They are complete opposites, and Tanwa himself carries unresolved emotional baggage. From what we’ve seen, it doesn’t even seem like he’s had much experience with a stable, serious relationship.
Still, despite all of that, I find myself rooting for them because, the joy and healing that comes from this kind of love, the kind that pulls you out of your pain and makes you feel alive again is worth it and honestly so beautiful.
