I agree with you and that's what I did.
It's impossible to put all the details of a book in a movie. Still, I think some important parts of both the characters life -Reiko for example- and the story were missing in it.
I also agree with the visual impression, I think it reproduced quite well the special atmosphere of Murakami's book, all in all it was a good interpretation by the film director Tr?n Anh Hùng.
he's also in Miss Ripley along with Lee Da Hae and someone else (a love triangle kind of drama), not very popular…
Yes, I tried watching it but I couldn't continue and dropped it. I heard that drama was based on a true story though, maybe I should give it a second try?
The ending sequence (at the end of the episodes) is lovely.

Gwahaha, totally agree, I love how they do something and then look at each other's face like "What the heck?!!". I have to say the music really fits and I can't get it out of my head now ^^
