I think it's interesting that it bugged you that much. I just felt like it was fine and didn't think much of it. I also feel like in any tv show and movie I just have a high suspension of disbelief cuz i know its not real. I find it fascinating to talk to people about all the inconsistencies in tv shows and movies because I just skip over all of them and enjoy it for what it is. That doesn't mean that the show can be completely nonsensical but that I can take a lot before I say that it's too unreal to happen. It drives everyone I know insane lol. I get your point tho. It definitely makes sense.

I'm pretty sure she said that she studied it just to make the mother feel a bit more confident. Also, she was the best person nearby to deliver the baby. She also called the grannies for advice since they delivered babies themselves. It obviously would have been better to go to a hospital, but they couldn't cuz of the storm.
