If it wasn't for this onion š§ , Jiashu will not find out from Wen Jie that Huajun is waiting for him at the…
Didnāt she write to Jiashu in the letter that Wenjie burned saying that she would be there? And then Wenjie was taunting Jiashu with that information when he was locked in the burning dormitory?
Are Mr Pei and Ms Fang (the librarian) not together? She disappeared after the failed marriage agreement. Why would she have to give up her job? That's the only point that has really puzzled me so far. I learned about this era of Chinese history at university a very long time ago, but not to this level of detail!
Really? I now realise why he looked younger to me š too bad it does not have ok subtitling :(
It is after all a patriotic drama that is not really intended to have an international audience. Besides that, there have been controversies about other dramas with this theme requiring further review, and then one can only surmise the other reasons why it was further delayed after broadcast licence was granted. The entire topic is very sensitive not only because of relations between China and Japan but also the role of the party at that time. We are starting to see more of that as episodes go on. PS: I am not sure how many more times I can watch that poor librarian pack up all the books!
if you watch on desktop and have language reactor plugin, turn on both human and machine translation. This fills in the gaps a little bit. Hopefully a version with proper subs comes out soon.
I started watching for Didi and Yukee sure but wow this show reminds me how much I love this style of humour and the whole cast is deadpan hilarious and excellent. Every character is so distinctive and funny. The episode about gamifying work was so bang on I am now searching for clips or GIFs I can insert in my own work presentations lol.
Reenacting *that* famous film dance in episode 20. So unexpected, and hilarious. Bwahahaha! It's also absolutely cracking me up how some of the same dun dun duuunnnn comedy-drama OST music as Unchained Love is being used in this show - same director - that show makes more sense stylistically after watching this comedy.
