The story might feel a bit old fashioned but I am finding the style and production fresh. It’s really easy to watch so far. My mum (not Asian) always nagged me about marriage and kids, and I once had to drag a very drunk friend back to a hotel so that scene I could also relate to 🤣

I'm only 3 episodes in, is this aimed at kids/teens? It feels like a deliberate pitch at a younger audience compared to shows I usually watch. Whatever it is, it's hella cute and funny.

The novel was quite similar for the main characters, yes. So it's not like they were working from award-winning source material.

A few nice swoon moments in the final episodes and the lighter mood is how it should have been all along. Needed a ruthless editor to drop at least 5 or 6 episodes. And some of the more toxic moments from the novel should have been dropped. Another thing that was annoying by the end was the completely out of place Irish fiddle BGM and the same piano piece in every single restaurant scene. Let's hope all the actors get better projects after this.

Yet another unnecessary character introduced but I must confess - I have the same name as her (one of the few Western names popular in China I guess?) and hearing Dylan say it is 😍 swoon!

I love them both. Audience seems to understand sometimes actors need to choose these sorts of projects and are criticising the characters and writing not their portrayal of them

And yet despite everything it IS a mega hit. 🙄

I know 😭 it really did start out well but went downhill so fast.
