Regarding the flashbacks to high school days in episode 3: I really didn't feel the love between the leads. Felt a bit forced. Am I the only one? Thoughts?

I watched 3 of the 10 episodes released so far and the fl is not my cup of tea. Can someone explain to me what the ml saw in her in the first place? She seems so boring and bland!She reminds me so much of her character in “Have a crush on you” which I couldn’t stand with passion. Idk if I can last until the end!
