great
I absolutely loved it. I went into it expecting a cute romance, but I ended up loving Sang Zhi’s character so much. She is honestly one of the calmest female leads I’ve watched, and there was something about her quiet and gentle personality that I found so adorable. She wasn't overly dramatic or loud, and I really loved how naturally soft and calm she was.I also completely fell in love with Zhao Lusi through this drama. Her acting was so cute and effortless, especially in the little expressions and subtle reactions. She made Sang Zhi feel incredibly lovable without making her feel annoying or overly childish. I genuinely think her performance was one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed the drama so much.
The only time Sang Zhi really tested my patience was whenever she was with her brother. 😭 Their relationship was hilarious, but she could be SO frustrating with him sometimes. At the same time, I loved their sibling dynamic because it felt very real. The way they annoyed each other while still obviously caring about each other made their relationship one of my favorite parts of the drama.
But honestly, what stayed with me the most was how peaceful Sang Zhi felt as a character. I don't think I've watched many female leads with that kind of quiet, soft energy, and I found it really refreshing. She didn't need to be loud to be memorable, and Zhao Lusi portrayed that side of her so naturally.

One thing I really appreciated about the Chinese version is that it had more episodes, so the story had much more room to breathe. It explored the characters' childhood, family dynamics, relationships, and individual struggles in much greater detail. You really get to spend a lot of time with these characters, which makes their relationships feel more developed and meaningful.
That being said, I do think the drama was longer than it needed to be. Some parts in the middle felt like they were dragging or repeating the same emotions and conflicts, and I found myself wishing the story would move forward a little faster.
Overall, Go Ahead was a lovely watch. It was funny, emotional, comforting, and had amazing chemistry between the cast. Even though I preferred the Korean remake overall, I think Go Ahead deserves credit for giving the story and its characters so much more depth and development.

a great romcom with old school cringe
was contemplating watching it ( as i'm not a huge time travel fan ) , but turns out it's amazing .. old drama vibes ( cringy but addictive )it's funny especially first few eps really got me hooked .. it got a little stretched over the last few eps but i didn't really mind .
i don't think much of the ost i don't even remember it to be honest.
fl and ml have great chemistry . both are charismatic , first time seeing the ml and he did great .

it was good
it's one upon the few c dramas i saw , i liked it pretty much until the classic c drama filler eps .. somewhere at the mid it was meh.. so i skipped a couple of eps but overall it was good , the acting was great ( even the support roles were great ) ..i don't recall the ost so i don't think it was that good
i don't think i will rewatch though .

meh
unfortunately I couldn't finish it properly because the female lead's character drove me crazy. Her personality was just too weird for me. She lies constantly, does things that make no sense, and I found her more annoying than funny. I know the drama is supposed to be comedic, but honestly, most of the comedy didn't work for me at all. I barely laughed. And Dong-wook wasn't much better for me. I kept getting annoyed every time he went back to his ex. Like... why are we still doing this?! At some point I just gave up and skipped from episode 6 to the last episode, and surprisingly, I could still understand pretty much everything that happened. That kind of tells you how little I felt I was missing.
support characters also was as weird , also i thought fl looked better with the joongi ..
The only things I genuinely enjoyed were the nostalgia, the fashion, and the aunt, who was honestly adorable. She was one of the few characters I actually liked watching.
the last ep is just meh too , the grandpa himself was a lier too like what is going on
I really wanted to like this because of the nostalgia but honestly meh

was it good?
The concept was actually really cute, and I think the execution was pretty good overall. The drama had a fun and interesting premise, and the cast did a good job, especially the female lead. She was absolutely adorable and honestly the main reason I kept watching. She had such a charming presence that made even the weaker parts more enjoyable. The acting from the cast in general was good, and I liked the chemistry between the leads. But at the same time, I constantly felt like something was missing. I can't even properly explain what it was, but there was this feeling that the drama could have been so much better if certain things had been handled differently.
Some of the choices and decisions the characters made also genuinely confused me. There were moments where I was just sitting there thinking, "Why would you do that??" Some situations felt unnecessarily complicated, and a few decisions didn't make much sense to me.

a great random watch lol
I randomly started watching The First Frost after watching Hidden Love, without even realizing they were connected, so finding out that it was actually about Sang Yan, Duan Jiaxu’s brother, was such a nice surprise. I honestly had no idea going in, which made the connection even more special. What I really loved about it was getting to see Sang Yan’s story from a completely different perspective. In Hidden Love, we mostly knew him through Sang Zhi’s eyes, and even though he had a pretty big presence in her story, there was still so much we didn’t know about him. The First Frost finally gives him his own story and lets us understand what was actually going on behind that confident, annoying, and slightly chaotic personality.
I’ll admit, Sang Yan annoyed me a little at the beginning. 😭 He could be immature, stubborn, and way too confident for his own good, and sometimes I genuinely wanted to tell him to calm down. But I really liked how his character developed throughout the drama. As the story went on, you could see the more vulnerable and responsible side of him. He slowly became more mature and emotionally aware, and I especially liked seeing how much he cared about the people around him even when he wasn't very good at expressing it.
I also loved that the drama didn't just rely on the connection to *Hidden Love*. It actually managed to stand on its own and tell Sang Yan's story while still giving us those little connections that made me appreciate the original drama even more.

i loved it
watched Go Ahead after Family by Choice, so I naturally kept comparing the two while watching. And honestly, I really enjoyed Go Ahead. It was such a warm, comforting, and wholesome drama, and the chemistry between the cast was amazing. I completely understand why the original is so loved. One thing I definitely preferred about Go Ahead was how much more time it had to tell the story. With more episodes, it was able to explore the characters, their childhood, family dynamics, and relationships in much more detail. Some things that felt a little rushed in the Korean version had more room to develop here, and I appreciated getting to understand the characters on a deeper level.
However, I still prefer Family by Choice overall. I think the biggest difference for me was the chemistry. Even though Go Ahead had great chemistry, the Korean cast just had something that made me more attached to them. I found myself more emotionally invested in their dynamic while watching the Korean version.
Go Ahead was definitely longer than necessary in some parts, and there were moments where I felt the story was dragging or repeating certain conflicts. But despite that, it was still a really enjoyable watch. I'm glad I watched the original because it gave me a much fuller version of the story and made me appreciate both adaptations in different ways.
