I am dying to find out, too! From a version of the original novel in Chinese it appears that in order to save his country (& particularly his young sister Princess Zi Gu) Prince Yue Qin volunteered to be sent to the enemy kingdom as ransom; yet found favor with the emperor there. From short videos from the filming site and interviews it appears that he may have been betrothed to Mei Lin, though chooses to give her freedom of choice to follow her own heart, even though it drives him mad because he does love her. Bi Wenjun also jokingly says that Yue Qin doesn't know how to fight: he leads the army to one war and loses. :P In any case, I believe that we can expect a complex character in Yue Qin, and an excellent performance by Bi Wenjun. His styling in this drama looks stunningly gorgeous, too. : ) I can hardly wait to see ground-breaking performances by the stellar cast!
