Just finished 1st eps and I’m hooked!!!

I started watching this drama because of 1930’s period in combination w Ryan, but then caught up in the superb story and acting in the 2nd arc. The 3rd arc is very personal to me coz I worked in the fashion production in Shanghai. So realistic and those practices still happens today 😭😆

Agree! Even the fashion show was very realistic and the Qipu Market still exist. Well it’s now more commercial. I first arrived in SH only a few years later than this arc. I’ve seen the growth and commercialization of SH businesses, the drama is so well written and cinematography is superb. Of all 3 arc!

If been in the fashion production industry in Shanghai for years and I must say, it’s very realistic indeed!

Despite the Cheng Lei part is over I still like this drama. I was a Shanghai expat for many years and it’s so interesting to watch its history. Those beautiful tiny Shikumen houses 🫶🏼😍

Sigh. … binged 33 eps in 2 days without even skipping a scene. Beautiful… if only we could see more of these 2 in the modern world 🥹

His acting is so good tho, those subtle facial expressions of annoyance in eps 28 😆

Well, of course the story is more or less “romanticized” , but their acting is very convincing which makes it realistic to me

Just finished all episodes, really such a good realistic drama. Even the ending when Ranran was finally found. No need for me to see her reunited w her mom. Strong acting by Dilraba, these kind of characters suits her. I’m becoming more and more a fan of these dramas, all actors look realistic. Mainly because of the lack of whitening makeup I guess. Kudos 👏🏻🙌🏻

OMG I’ve just watched the previews. So Bei Ming also has a brother. Probably a twin, cause Yesha’s voice sounds similar to BM. And explains why old Bug kept saying BM is Yesha… welll we’ll see!

Actually I don’t feel any chemistry between the 2 characters, it’s more one sided from Ms Chen. Hanli keeps all women at a distance

I do agree that eps 24 does have a late 80s / early 90s vibe
