I absolutely agree with you. I watch this series because of LiQin instead of RJL. Yes, she has moved my heart…
Thank you so much I thought I was the only one who noticed how incredible she has been in this show. It’s the first time I have noticed her acting skills in a show. I have added her to my list of good Chinese actresses and will be on the look out for her from now 😉
Contrary to some opinions here, I’ve loved Li Qin’s performance all through the show so far! In fact, it’s the first time I’m seeing her express a wide range of emotions in a character. For example in Joy of Life (very very good drama btw!) where she was a shy quiet type with “princessy” class and demeanour. Here, she’s a very detailed and expressive natural or average everyday character in Deng Deng, playing a complex and somewhat manly role where she’s also expected to be strong and funny but not show much weakness as is it practiced our real life society. She’s performed remarkably well so far in my opinion! I was particularly wowed in one scene and almost moved to tears when Dengdeng was almost killed by Lu Yan who she trusted so much despite not really knowing his real identity or past and even getting warned that he was planning to harm her. Her teary eyes when she asked him why he wanted to kill her despite her only treating him with love and trust as she pointed a gun at him was really tremendous and strong. Amazing acting by Li Qin and Lu Yan (who btw has an easier, less expressive role but is executing that really well too).
I’m sorry but this show is highly overrated to me. It’s got a weak plot but with a typical exciting energy which is why I get why people find it quite enjoyable. So many disappointing characters who were properly built but got discarded and not used properly. Exciting plot but with a lot of loose ends and endless plot holes. It’s a 5.5/10 for me guys.
Thanks, I was going to give this a shot, but I don't want to waste my time on predictable dramas .. I am so tired…
Hey, thanks but don’t get me wrong, it is worth a shot but don’t go in expecting a top class storyline with fast pace. It’s slow but then excellent acting was what kept bringing me back each time I dropped it.
This drama had a special storyline BUT, 9.0/10? I don’t think so. It was an 8/10. It was rather predictable as there was no surprise factor considering it’s supposed to be an Investigative and suspense filled drama. I was rather disappointed because considering the heavy ratings I saw, I went in to watch a drama of the same class of “Signal”, but I ended up dropping over and over again because it wasn’t engaging enough. It did get better though due to high quality actors and one last twist towards the end. But then again, I’d rather it were a movie because it simply bored me till the final scenes literally. This is in contrast to Signal. Don’t get me wrong, I did eventually like it but again, the ratings are unnecessarily heavy in my opinion.
While you were asleep is rated 8.9 (honestly, I’d give it a 5.5/10) and this a mere 8.5? This is a well twisted plot with excellent acting and good soundtracks. I think too many korean audience are focused on rom-coms and ignore quality dramas like this. So far I’d give this a solid 9/10.
