I agree with both of the MLs, just handle the ex-wife on the phone! Her parts can be cut altogether, the only impact she has to the story is the Tokyo connection, which can be handled by any Osaka employee like Kanda, or if it must be Tokyo they have one too, I forgot the name.

From the beginning, I said that we should treat the adaptation and the novel as two different stories. Not that anyone cared.

Priest novel is set in the post war era in mainland China where everything is in chaos and lawless. And it is not a matter of writing style, no one is allowed to write BL in China, unless you are not afraid of the re-education camp (aka prison with slightly better living conditions than hell).

It wouldn't even make sense if the adaptation recreate the settings. For example, how many of you know the differences between public security, local police, traffic control, local guard, city patrolman, manner guard, flag patrol, squire, party committee, etc... ? They all have say in local security, I'm not kidding.

So my point is there really is no point to argue, like literally. Are we having a historical before a BL?

I have yet to go into the belief system, the slump, lawless region, citizenship, urbanization, one child policy, postwar regional army force turned triad, farmer's pride, underground trade, real estate reform (banned as capitalism but is an ongoing party project)...

This might be a little bit too serious for someone, but really Priest's novel is noteworthy not only as entertaining BL (one of the few that survived the ban), but real struggle for generations of people that are "different" in mainland China.

It is unlikely that she will get award for her novel, it is not Nobel prize literature. Imo, the translators are brilliant just by trying. From ancient Chinese proses, poetries, idioms, to wetmarket trash talk, it cannot be easy.

I hope this might help, and let me stress that I'm not trying to change your opinion. I just think personal attacks are not needed, again I'm not finger pointing at anyone, so save it and watch the show.

For EP.1, this is better than "Y Destiny" and ""War of Y", so good for you First.

Please don't turn into another slow plow eye candies flashback parade like all the other Thai BLs.

Second, Ji walked out the hospital with a doc jacket (which is weird to begin with) and it transformed into a backpack at the apartment parking lot. The pack is clearly empty too.

Ji did not head for the hospital parking lot makes little sense when he has forgotten about his key. And Achi just turned into the visitor drop-off right at that moment? Sweet but inconsistent.

Achi's puppy eyes look with the wide grin is good to look at surely. I would appreciate if they "burn" a little bit quicker though. Every time Ji stand up, I'm like no! Not another flashback!😴

Anyway the long pause in between any dialogue is a cringe for me. This reminds me of that food BL "Bite Me", but for that one at least there are delicious food to look at.

The characters in this series, be that vampire, ghost, weirdo, creepy auntie, friends, and neighbours, come and go as they please. Surprisingly, it is not bothering me and it looks normal.

We already have all of them partying on the rooftop with blood soup last EP, and they are not open? And the quality they need for the job is being weird? And more helpful than Pun, who does nothing?🤣

Then, we have a vampire, wearing a cross, holding that elegant lady umbrella, eating blood soup in a temple? Where to begin even?😅

And no one but the red hair drank that veggie smoothie, not even the extras, I wonder what killer taste it has!
