In a more lighter setting LSG would be great. But here we have a man, who had a terrible childhood, ostracized by the entire tribe, which continues as he grows up, and then is reminded that he is the reason for the mishaps with his children, his wife hated him, he was called a monster, then his entire family is killed by the person he thought was his saviour( or is it ?), And he is immortal, souless and has revenge as his only goal of life. He had to be what he is. I think LJW is playing his character very well.

having read the novel, this series is not impressing me much. The acting although is good, the direction and the story-line are just Meh. I wish they would have followed the way the novel is portrayed. Even if they are separating both the timelines, 24 episodes are not necessary for the ancient timeline, the drama story has so many unnecessary elements.
I was so excited for this, I will still watch it as a respect to the original novel, but I have seen better chinese dramas.
That being said, Allen Ren and Bailu are just wonderful I must say :)
