Title My Mister
Personally its the best drama I have ever seen but its not binge watch material, I would honestly suggest that…
Thanks. In Reply 1988, I get charmed when the neighborhood is simply eating. Here, I feel nothing with the brothers constant drinking scene. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t draw me in. But I’ll pace myself and see.

Quarantine is a good time to start. I’m at ep6, she while there are interesting developments and flashes of brilliance, it’s not really addictive.

Does it get better?

I agree. I thought I got a little glimpse of "Doc's son". (Character he played in Cruel City, if you haven't seen…
Cruel City one of my all time faves!

The only thing I liked was Park Bo Gum’s cameo. Sae Ro Yi remained to be his preachy self to end. I didn’t care for the loveline, but those who did would be happy. Everything else was predictable.

After seeing Mydramalist reviews,I knew korean and international fans have different taste.U may wonder why the…
I wouldn’t call this “real life motivational drama”. In every turn, they were helped by improbable events.
- a so so cook winning national championship.
- bail out from fairytale grandmother
- a chaebol heir so stupid he volunteered his misdemeanor case to near stranger

The only motivational part was Sae Ro Yi going to the neighborhood restaurants to help them out. If the other restaurants will rise, the dead end street will be revived.

Alas - such inspiring scenarios were few and far in between. Instead, a cringey love line is shoved to our face. (By the way I don’t ship anyone and like you would have preferred this to be a motivational realistic story).

This drama has degenerated from a pretty interesting setup to fantastical plot to keep it going and cringey OTP.

Not all OTPs are believable to me but this one takes the cake as it is borderline harassment with unwelcome advances. No one seems to care just because the harasser is female and a subordinate. They imagine Park Seo Joon has either always been or gradually increasingly with every been falling in love.

Well, before ep 14, which part of the “no, no, no” was unclear? But apparently, the screenwriter is of the same mind that unwanted advances are adorable and should be reciprocated - after all, Yi Seo did so much for the company! Sorry, I don’t buy it. At best it’s cringey if not borderline harassment.

Fantastical plots include a passable cook becaming a national champion and a fairy grandma investor. Ok it’s kdrama, I do enjoy occasional suspension of belief , but all these together made me realised what I didn’t notice initially - that this screenplay is webtoonish at its worst and lame.

Btw, neither do I care for Soo Ah, lest people accuse me of favouring the other female lead.

I’m probably in the minority, but I felt manipulated by how the plot progressed, given the level of storytelling detail in the early episodes. Recommended for those who are hankering slice of life / POV of the elderly.

I don't know it's only for me or not but i think the writers are trying too hard to make this show more dramatic.…
Not too keen as well. For me the culprit is not acting but the screenplay. Character motivation isn’t presented well so can’t sympathize with anyone (apart from brother-sister).

The bromance should be highlight but it’s hard to root for the friendship if they themselves don’t seem to care. The romance can be chopped off totally andIt would be good riddance. And Bang Won screen time is so limited, despite brilliance of jang hyuk, you don’t feel his betrayal/turning point if you just rely on the drama. I do like the brother-sister storyline - since they care for each other, we care along with them.

Too bad I had high hopes.

I definitely ship the Jung Hee and Mi Yeong, next Cheol Soo and Ra Yeong. And while I really like the eldest daughter especially when she gets into kick-ass mode, I do still find the scenes of eldest Daughter with Husband and Mother in law long. Is the eldest Daughter romance the lead couple? I even timed it, I think they allotted 50% screen time to eldest Daughter and family. I thought actor romance was main plot line?

Thanks Claudia, Serin. & Shelly. I'm now at ep 28 and pacing has been better. The plot is getting addicting. Thanks for encouraging me to hang in there

Hearing all positive buzz, I started to watch recently and at ep18. So far I'm finding it a bit draggy. For example, it took 3-4 discussions between Husband and Wife to allow the actor-Son to live in their home. The pacing could be faster. I'm mildly interested but hardly addicted, I reached ep18 through help of fast forward. I really want to like this more seeing all the love.

Question - Does it get better after ep18?
