Well done Cdrama! Another story of an amazing STRONG woman in the history books. The lead actor chemistry was heartfelt with each supporting cast member doing an FAB job in their roles. Hands down this MIL-Empress Dowager is an evil beast that devours power and no one is exempt from her feasting or killing spree. This is a long series yet it has so many twists, turns, and interesting storyline each episode moves quick. Bottom-line: Story of a smart, savvy, naive young girl tossed out into the wilds of world by a greedy family only to placed in to Palatial - Political hell, fall is love and ascends to high ranks based on her intelligence, resilience and tenacity. Music: was OK, appropriate for movie YET nothing memorable. While watching this JANG OK JUNG kept running around in my head, so if you liked JokJ, give this a try. Well done filming, and just enough wuxia to remind you you're watching good Cdrama.

Just finished and loved all the episode EXCEPT #20 -finale. The lush scenery, skilled artists, painstaking sacrifices and most of all conniving royals that only Kdrama can deliver. The lead actor was my reason for viewing since seeing him in Lovers in Paris, and he delivered another highly restrained and rather blank role - which he is good at.
The finale episode is a BIG mess of 'lets hurry up & finish,' thus leaving you with a question mark on why did I watch this for 19 episodes and the end is a messy, rushed and does not flow with the carefully woven pace & story in all the other episodes.
Why watch: If you like-appreciate art history this movie will entertain and offer another glimpse into Korean art & form. Just don't be mad when you see ep20 - just reminisce the art drawing & discussions by masters on the form.

The Books are always Better however this is GOOD!

A must watch for crime/ mystery/thriller folk.
Story: a 90’s exploration of the power of media/social science as a psychopath deeply woven into media mainstream committing grotesque crimes on humans deemed beneath his subsurface moral code with assistance from other deviant devoid of moral values.
Acting: brilliant & poignant
Music: appropriate & well done. Paces the drama perfectly.
RW: yes, need some time before I jump back in.
Overall: watch knowing we are far worse now in ‘23. The psychopath are among us all many in positions to lead society, governments and your kids! Chilling drama.

First off, this drama screamed 'not for you, way too bubblegum.' Surprise of the year for me! OMG is well written&produced-directed- thank you drama overlords. The male lead always seemed uncomfortable acting, stiff and just lackluster in other dramas however these traits played to the character he portrayed -well done! As for the female lead, she pulled off a great role and really offered us two people - well done.
Story line, a rigid, perfectionist, and lonely man runs into a girl with special abilities who turns his world upside over. All reminding us to live now, love now. Never take the next moment for granted.
Other supporting cast members were spot on and rounded out the story wonderfully.
Music: ideally placed yet not wormy.

Btw- if you are looking for a villain to go on any list, this drama has one and he is flawless in his portrayal of a kindness mask worn by pure evil - he was my takeaway role.

Watch again, maybe... good writing, directing, & production are rare now days.

DtrX2.0 final episode is AWESOME! Daimon is at her best and crashes another hospital boys club without taking responsibility. For all DTRX fans, ep 9 is a perfect ending & just don't plan to move from seat since alot of stuff happens or not happens. Gotta love Daimon & teacher!
DTRX3.0???? no mention - any update?

Love -obsession - pace

Just found this drama by accident. What a great accident‼️
Story - not new, well paced storyline with surprises and twists. Delightful with now trope betrayals or silliness filler.
Actors- refreshing and well casted with non BIGGIE actors.
Music- unobtrusive
Overall - strong FL and ML had demeanor of a seasoned actor. Good watch if liked Blossom, Minglan, Coroner, Nirvana.

Craven meets selfishness

Long drama with despicable humans gaslighting & screwing each other viscously mercilessly and blissfully.
Acting was OK, just Lakorn style.
Music was done well
Summary: void of any humanity this drama is a relentless
Portrayal of greed + selfishness + bankrupt character = Lakorn madness. Have fun, it’s a twisted ride.

Marriage with a

Story: not new, improved story line due to intelligent & realistic writing. Drama for adults.
Acting: strong acting & villainy at work.
Music: well played
Overall: if you’re looking for a classic narcissistic,gas-lighting lesson the ML in this is textbook and delicious played out. The circle of damage is devastating and abusive. If you’re looking for solid character development, good writing and smooth drama, this could be for you. If you’re looking for fast pace, go elsewhere.

Doormat & Manipulative

45eps of what the heck?
Story: identical twins in big city. One is blindly naive & gullible = doormat. Second yearns for bigger than life existence at any cost. But first she plastics herself to differentiate from door-matted sister. Lots of manipulation and just revenge for big chair.
Acting: ML solid, FL is child like, SML- go back to commercials. Don’t try An adult role kiddo. All the rest were okay
Music: blerg
RW: please not again - had to skip eps just to finish.
Summary: tale of emotional abuse, narcissism, and spoiled-neglected humans. What I NEVER saw:
-FL character development-same simplicity from eps1 thru 45 - WHY?
-ML is more mature and zero - minimal physical contact - not realistic for any man.
-SFL - way too much time spent on her horrible emotional abuse upon any that got near her, especially her sister. Who got special treatment of abuse to satisfy her ugliness.
-SML- he’s just way too young to carry anything but grocery sacks nonetheless chairmen of a company role.
Watch and skip every other. Drama should have been shorter - but product placement was far more crucial.

Cv19 bound and this was on my watch list. Why? This is a mashup of something that needed better or consistent writing. Get the reincarnated love thing but evolved space alien foxes .... okay I looked some weird stuff but this was not trying to be. It was seriously wanted to taken seriously?!
Acting: JH has the capacity to do better drama. His swagger and no expressions face are priceless. The FL did not know floor mats had a body. No chemistry she was flat the entire drama. Why this pairing. As for the side characters, really?
Music: one standout the Gui song and singer. Lyrics dreamy.
RW: not jut no but run opposite direction
Overall: JH seems be be paired with some of most shallow, weak, but visually appealing female actresses. Watch him at your own peril of drama bad script. Wasted eye candy!

This review may contain spoilers
Story: once in a life love, death, STARK -RAVING rich folk using $$ for replacement love. This is the core of the mess. Face transplants? Body swaps? EVIL teacher-friend ( who I never understood his motive at all.)
Acting/Casting: My draw was the ML Shao, he was perfect for this role of lover, fashionisto, just an overall SMEXY man. The FL was ice-queen who needs MORE acting classes and presence to be with the likes of the ML. The basket of other actors left NO lasting impression or proof of their acing abilities.
Music: lets move on. Nothing meaningful for me nor memorable of the story.
RW: NOT in this lifetime!
Overall: this story was too many eps! 58 was only for sponsors. Content was about 28-32eps worthy. Again, my main draw was the ML (since meeting him Ode 2Joy 1 &2) he deserved better story and actors. Face transplants, body swaps, killing for greed, last minute near death, silly adult scenes of poor communication, misunderstandings( too tedious& formulaic to detail) . This drama had potential and lost you quickly at 18eps. At the end, I never got a satisfying resolution to why the teacher-friend "POOCHED" & KILLED ? Drama title rename: "Fashionable Fu&kery"!

STOP now if you do not like intelligent, well portrayed, long, sumptuous scenes/costumes and history dramas. This will not meet your needs. This is for lovers of SOLID, well delivered historical drama lovers. This is an investment of time and love.
Story: Not new - Qing era - power - harem & survival- politics- love- abuse of powers - loyalty. The writers & production team brought us into the Forbidden city, behind the doors and inside the lives of the women & men who are simply wanting to live - some greedily others - some for revenge - some just for love.
Actors/Cast: YL & the Emperor were MAGNIFICENT with screen chemistry rivaling any modern drama. They both portrayed their roles with grace, power and depth. There were so many moving parts(cast members) that performed brilliantly, all the while convincing us the power & survival within - surrounding the harem life. Not one terrible actor!
Music: the score was PERFECT for the drama, while the opening soundtrack of the opera singing set the tone for the entire drama.
ReWatch: at 70 ep, may come back after I get some rest. Worthy of re-watch - REALLY!
Overall: Costumes, scenes and actors delivered a compelling drama riddle with logic, philosophy and relevance to survival & love, period! The final ep of the dialog with YL and Chun is the final learning offered to us as to survival in the forbidden domain of love. Watch if your are serious about Cdramas. Brilliant!

Story: 4 girls & 1 woman still growing up and out of life and relationships. This season was all about character development of the 22nd floor residents. Some regressed yet development by the end.

Acting/Casting: The entire cast is fitting and comfortable with roles, storyline and each other, something rarely viewed.

Music: Never paid any attention
RW: The beginning of S2 with Bao aggressive courting. Watching & listening to his voice was mesmerizing - what took Andi so long?

Overall: For many, book 2 are primarily developmental portion of story - character of the trilogy, this followed suit. Many parts were simply nerve racking and silly. However knowing this is the bridge to S3, I will give space and reserve judgement. S3 has a heavy load to carry on putting closure to the many open ends.

Great adult - family drama for those looking for something easy, amazing dialog and feel-good.
Story: Family story of growing older, growing up, love and all the craziness a solid family offers each other. Lots of lessons and reflection of leads who are 50+.
Acting: Well done in the portrayal of what is love for 50+ look, smell and act like.
Music: nothing still ringing in my head - but not bothersome
Rewatch: possible a few of the episode.

This is S2 of this drama. There is not a heavy need to see S1 to understand S2 however S1 offers the backstory of all the characters and very enjoyable. This Jdrama portrays the travails of modern, professional women & men navigating life's journey (good-bad-sad-perplexing) through many characters life lenses. Great dialogs between all characters making this a drama NOT for everyone. However many of these scenes are glimpses into a real world - when we all may be so lucky to make it to 50+ and remain smiling.

Has been on my PTW list awaiting a place to view - finally the universe granted us snow days PLUS it's on dramacool.com. Not a bad way to spend snowed days.

Story> not a new story, only a story that demonstrated love(good & bad) at its different stages for folks over the age of 25. The poor-ditzy girl from country meets the prince of the city, both in need of a case of love to shake off the chills of loneliness & immaturity.
Actors> The two leads simply simmered & sizzled on screen acting out this "rella' story. The side story's and actors all repeated a similar storyline of the right love & support can mature a man & woman. Standout: The lead actor was this smoldering sexy, intelligent prince, waiting - urging his girl to grow-up into the woman she is meant to become (and does).
Overall>>
33eps _45~min each is long, but the story does move along and a bit skipping helps the move along. Cdrama sometimes have a low-budget feel however this drama feels and looks first rate putting it equal to any Kdrama RomCom. The only cheesy part for me were the misleading posters, not giving this drama a fair chance.
>Music - cute but not distracting, no music worms will invade.

Give this a shot is you like RomCom_ the story is good, heart moving and lots of twists, love triangles, betrayal and patient, enduring LOVE.
