I watched this show when it was first released on Mango TV back in 2019, and to me, as a gamer and one who likes romance, this is prolly one of the best esports cdrama out there. The focus on the esports is great, and the acting is fantastic, in particular in the last episode.

First five episodes arent that great, but once the ML/FL get over their mistrust and judgment of each other, then things do get better. It is marred later on by something else, but once that is settled, then the show ends with a really good esports showdown.

I would also like to point out that this drama was also highlighted by the wife/girlfriend of Uzi or Doinb (it's one of them) of the REAL-life China esports team, Fun Plus Phoenix (FPX), who said that the author of the drama was so prophetic, cos the drama mirrored the success of Fun Plus Phoenix in the article below (the drama came first, the win came later in the year)

I watched this for Yamaken and his acting is actually really really good in this one! I was quite surprised. And…
She acted again with Kento Yamazaki in Alice in Borderlands on Netflix late last year/early this year. Season 2 is already confirmed. It is more of a mystery thriller tho, not so much of romance.

That's what I thought when I read the synopsis. I, surprisingly, like The Life of The White Fox so I'm looking…

Frightening Cohabitation was actually serialized way back 2017 years before White Fox, unless they are both based…
The Life of the White Fox was produced in 2017 as well...see the link.

http://www.chinesedrama.info/2019/11/web-drama-life-of-white-fox.html

I think it is based off the same folk story. That doesnt mean that they ARE the same, cos the way the story is scripted for the dramas might be different.

We will know, when Frightening Cohabitation starts airing, and then can be compared with The Life of the White Fox.

Title My Roommate Is a Gumiho Spoiler
Ive been contemplating for while weather to watch this or not due to the cast and abit of the plot, but after…
If it follows the main plot of The Tale of the White Fox, it is more of a supernatural investigative plot rather than pure rom com. It does get a bit dark towards the end .

It was migration season, so he migrated for the rest of the drama :P (that was the only plausible answer I could think of).

Inzaghi disappeared that the same time when Vincenzo received the call to go back to Italy, so...maybe Inzaghi flew off to Italy to help out with the problems there (this is pure speculation)

Good drama except the AWFUL scenes of torture and useless violence in the last episode.
It's a Mafia show....and they are known to be violent and brutal. Some of them do incorporate torture as punishment. So, in that sense, this drama was relatively realistic with regards to Mafia ways of doing things.

If you are unfamiliar with Mafia stuff, you can either watch Godfather movies 1-3 (but they are violent) or read this article :)

Anyone noticed the Save Me kdrama easter egg in ep 2 of Dark Hole? Considering the town is named Muji (same as Save Me) and the reference to the building of the sanatorium in the mountains, this could be a prequel or sequel to Save Me (speculation on my part).

I really really really liked this omg. The focus on the friendship, individual growth and less to zero romance.…
You can try Ever Night. S1 is really good.

Tang Jia San Shao admitted that its easy for an animation to reenact the novel, but impossible for the live action…
Apparently, they started off with a low budget (filming started in 2018). It was only later, ard early 2020 that the show got more investors for the drama. This will prolly explain why the background music is bad, and the relatively low production value as compared to other dramas like Ever Night. Bear in mind that when this drama was filmed, even Xiao Zhan wasnt famous yet...so they prolly got him cheap (as in Joy of Life too). Also, CGI takes up a lot of money, so considering how good the CGI is, I think that's a trade off. Also, usually the CGI budget for films are a lot more substantial than TV dramas, which will prolly explain why the CG effects are better in Ying Yang Master:Dream of Eternity, or heck, even Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War.

But the bottom line is that the author of Duoluo Continent, Tang Jia San Shao, is happy with the live adaptation of the drama (as he is with the anime).

Anyway, I think the more important question, now that Xiao Zhan is famous (so more expensive to hire as actor), is whether he and the rest of the cast will return for S2, which is confirmed by the screenwriter, altho the casting isnt confirmed and filming havent started yet.

It's good but damn..so many changing..some changing are good..but some are bad. And we they don't show more battles…
Tang Jia San Shao admitted that its easy for an animation to reenact the novel, but impossible for the live action to do so. He communicated with the scriptwriter for a long time and that he has a lot of confidence in the live action of Douluo Continent.

Currently at ep 35/40. As someone who hasnt watched the anime, or read the novel, I have to agree with the review by KawaiiKiwichan. I found the story interesting and engaging, and absolutely love the camaraderie and friendship of the members of Shi Lan Ke school. I really like how they grow in character and martial soul prowess, as well as the development as a team. I also think the background music is pretty bad, but that doesnt really deter me from watching the drama since it is engaging enough. I suspect that a lot of the production money went into the various CGI, which might explain why certain other aspects are lacking :D

I know that I am only at ep 35, but based on some of the comments of the other reviewers, I suspect that this first season is building and setting up the stage for another season where more intrigue, challenges and trials await Tang San and the rest of the Shrek Devils.

According to this link, there are plans for Season 2. I hope the earlier comments and reviews here will not deter people from watching the drama. While the flow of the live drama may not follow the novel or anime sequentially, that doesnt mean that these wont be disclosed in Season 2, so we can hope.

Bonus observation: what I love about this drama are the various inventions and innovation (eg weapons, armor, Ou Si Ke's props) by Tang San and Ou Si Ke. This reminds me a fair bit of Joy of Life, which isnt surprising, since the screenwriter for both dramas is Wang Juan :)
