Already in episode 27 and I still can’t see the smartness of the ML people are talking about. Too calm can’t…
The ML was instrumental in the decision making and strategy for the war campaign, teaching the FL on how to improve her swordmanship, as well as coming up with the plan/strategy for fighting against the main villain of the drama. Everything is disclosed ard ep 35-36 ie. if you can hang on to watching it :D
the chess game challenge in ep 5 already showed him to be master strategist, when he won the martial arts challenge despite not having any kung fu skills.
Is the ML strong and can fight or is he just sickly and weak?
He is sickly (from poisoning), but is cured towards the end. He cannot fight , but he is considered a master strategist and is instrumental (by asking the right questions, and coming up with strategies) in how the female lead becomes a kung fu master. The final fight at the end shows that they function as a duo, rather than separate entities.
Checked out some of the comments here, and then decided to check out the trailer on Youtube. And then, I found out that two leads are the same leads for the cdrama My Youth, which is currently on Netflix....nice!
Where can i watch it with eng subs ? I've searcht every were!
it is already on Netflix, but just like Tale of Nokdu, it could be region locked. I am able to watch both on Netflix here in Singapore, but my American friend in the USA couldnt access either. You can try Dramacool or Viki
I read that Kim Yoo Jung trained for some of the action/fighing scenes, and it looks like the training paid off.
Heads up: there is some softcore in the drama which is understandable considering the webtoon is originally an adult webtoon. The drama was remade for a younger audience, so the porn part got toned down.
The overall feel of the drama is very comic-like, as befitting its webtoon origins. It is not very typical of Ji Chang Wook's usual dramas, so if you are not used to manga/anime/manhwa elements, this might be really strange to watch, but for me, I find it quite interesting. Ji Chang Wook carries most of the funny parts/scenes (and he is quite good at it), whilst Kim Yoo Jung is the one that instigates him to become funny.
ahhaha well guess I’m definitely not watching this now based on the comments
The plot is actually pretty good, but the pacing and editing is quite bad at times. Ep 1 starts off well, but for the next 9 episodes, the pacing is quite uneven and slow.
It is at ep 11 that things start to ramp up, and hits the peak at ep 14-15. I felt the finale was anticlimactic but the show does have a happy ending, with the last 20 mins being quite cute.
The production value is pretty good, the acting solid, and the cinematography beautiful. However, I felt the chemistry between the leads werent that great.
There is actually a summary of the whole drama posted up by Melody Asian Drama . MAJOR SPOILERS I would think, unless you are eager to know what really happens. Melody herself has not watched the whole drama, but, and I quote, " I am basing this by the current episodes, novel, and research" . So yeah, anyway, fyi for anyone interested.
um, for those who have commented that Yukee Chen cant fight or act? I must be watching a different show...cos from this video, you can see evidently, she can live up to the role required of her. (and incidentally, I have watched Ashes of Love all through at least FIVE times lol)

But yeah, having played Kratos in the first GoW many many years back, I hear ya! :P

If you cant get it on Netflix due to region lock, try watching it on Dramacool.

otherwise, it is really bad to spread untruths about actors, especially when one doesnt hear it first hand, or know the actor personally
