I wasn't expecting much, i don't particularly watch law dramas but this had an interesting and unique plot and it was actually pretty good. Every single case was interesting, sometimes it was slow but never boring for me, not too long or too short. It has a good amount of suspense, the characters are well written, good music and good acting, especially the young actors. I really enjoyed it, it was dark, heartbreaking and heavy, i totally recommend it but keep in mind that some cases are really heavy and it might be hard to watch for someone. 8.5/10
Same here, I usually like Lee He Joon's acting, but it was strange in this drama. I also expected more since the…
I can totally understand why people think his acting was weird in this but i didn't find it that terrible honestly. And yes it was the same for me, it was enjoyable but it would be better to watch it without expecting too much that's it
Ya it obviously should have ended after the serial murder case, then maybe one extra ep to take down "the evil…
yes exactly, especially because we could tell what happened in the first episodes, for the last 6 episodes we were basically just waiting for them to find out and do their things and it got boring
An unpopular opinion but this is not a masterpiece for me. The first part of the drama wasn't that bad but the second part was slow, boring and predictable. It has very little suspense and it didn't feels like a thriller, it should've had no more than 10 episodes in my opinion. I loved Dongshik's unpredictable character and i'll miss his creepy smile but Park Jungje was definitely my favorite, i probably only finished watching this because of them. The one i couldn't really stand was Han Joowon, he was annoying 80% of the time, i couldn't get attached to him even if i love the actor sadly. Last but not least i couldn't see the big family they were bragging about? They didn't look like they cared for each other at all. And i didn't find the good bromance as well, i had high expectations but Joowon was obsessed and stalking Dongshik for the first half of the drama, they kept pointing fingers at each other and arguing for basically 15 episodes with some little glimpses of affection in the last one. The cast did an amazing job and the ost was good but if you want a dark, intriguing thriller, with amazing villains or fascinating killer that keeps you on the edge this is not for you
After reading the comments i was expecting a mind blowing masterpiece and it wasn't like this sadly for me. The main leads all kept doing a lot of stupid mistakes and it was so annoying. I didn't like the first 6 episodes, it was slow and confusing but it gets better towards the end; the last episodes were engaging and interesting at least, the last case was the most intriguing. Park Seonwoo and Jaehan were my favorite characters and i appreciated Park Haeyong especially towards the ending, Lee Jee Hoon is an amazing actor, his acting wasn't the best in this but I personally didn't find him terrible unlike other people. It had potential and the acting was good but the lack of communication and stupid mistakes were really bothering, i know they weren't telling the important information for plot sakes but it was so annoying, there should only have been fewer episodes for me. The connection between present and past was interesting and i don't regret watching but i really can't say it was a masterpiece. I enjoyed it despite everything so I totally recommend it, it's not a bad drama just don't expect too much, it will be better
It was a pretty good drama, the start was funny, the middle was interesting and maybe towards the end it gets draggy but it was still enjoyable. I loved Shim's story the most and i personally adored the second leads, Gye Sangmok and crown prince's mother, they were my favorite characters. But ALL the female characters were probably the best part of the drama honestly. The cast was so good, the ost was pretty and the cinematography lovely. It's not a masterpiece but if you want something not too deep, not too cheesy (fortunately) and pretty easy to watch in between of other dramas give it a try.
Ancient Detective was such a beautiful journey. Sometimes i wished it was longer but the ending was actually satisfying (not everyone will like the ending but i personally do). The fighting scenes are amazing, i loved the costumes, the Ost was good (i will miss the ending theme so much) and almost all of the cast did such a great job. The bromance was so good, loved the chemistry and i liked the romance between the main leads as well, if you don't like cheesy couples and you don't need a lot of skinship like me you will love this. (didn't like the second lead's romance and sfl's character sadly which is new cause i usually like evil characters) I liked Jian Buzhi's composure and rightness and that sometimes we could see that he wasn't perfect. Zhao Wohuan was a ray of sunshine, my favorite character, so loyal, funny and brave. Zhan Siqi was so pretty, strong, intriguing and I loved her caring towards the male lead. I honestly loved almost every single character. Yes, you can predict a lot of things but for me it doesn't ruined the story and didn’t make the drama boring at all. If you want a good wuxia with intriguing mistery, great cinematography and choreographies, with a journey full of interesting characters, friendships and adventures give it a try cause it's totally worth it.
Overall I Liked this drama. The concept of the whole trials things were amazing. Such a quality for the cinematography, visuals, CGI, cast and OST. A lot of characters were frustrating (Gaon sadly did a lot of stupid mistakes, same for Suhyun that was such a poorly written character) but I loved Yohan and Sunah. Jisung and villains acting was amazing. I loved seeing a dystopian drama, it was interesting and intriguing but not perfect. If you don’t care that some characters are frustrating, if you like evil characters and if you want something with a very good OST and cinematography you will like it. For me it was worth it even just for Jisung's character and acting.
I was excited for this drama, the first episodes were good the story was interesting and had potential but then it kept getting draggy, it was so hard staying focus and finish it. Full of cliché and flashbacks, we kept watching the same old dialogues over and over again, too long and unnecessary scenes (we saw them picking peaches for like 7min at some point, taking useless walks and constantly talking to themselves). I liked Haram elegance but rather then being blind but able to do amazing skillful things (even getting ridiculous at some point) his character left me nothing special. The FL was annoying, she kept not listening to anyone, causing trouble and putting a lot of people in danger again and again (didn't like her crying scenes unlike other people). I probably only finished this thanks to the Second male lead, he was the best character, the only one being responsible, not annoying, loyal, clever and always helping the main leads. If you like cheesy romance maybe you will like it but i couldn't feel the chemistry between the leads sadly. The cinematography and the OST were amazing that’s the only reason I would recommend this probably.
I wish I could erase my mind and rewatch it again. One of the best drama i've ever seen. The closest thing to a masterpiece for me (9/10). It wasn't perfect, sometimes it can be confusing, there's gonna be little things maybe you won't like and you need to stay focus but it is absolutely worth it cause it is brilliant, never boring always keeping you on the edge of the seat. Lee Seungi was outstanding, wow. He's so talented and he proved it again. Just keep in mind this drama is not about finding out who the bad guy is, it is more deep. It was intense, dark, a roller coaster of emotions, if you like thriller and villains characters you're gonna love it. (Don't forget to watch the spin off "Mouse: the predator" after ep. 15 for answers and details)
I agree with everything you said. I dropped it the first time after 5 episodes, then I started watching again…
I agree with everything you said too, reading the reviews i was expecting an intense, good written thriller with so many twists and suspense, but everything was predictable, sometimes messy and it looked like all the crime and thriller were a really small part of the drama? The focus were the romance and them being cheesy and dramatic (I got tired of that song at some point) that it is not bad if you like these things but the comments said it was Intense and brilliant so i was expecting something different. I only finished it for the villain honestly.
I'm so sorry to say it but i think this is a bit overrated. Maybe I should've watched it without reading reviews saying it was a masterpiece. I really wanted to love it, Joongi and the all cast were amazing but it was predictable, full of cliché and frustrating at some points. They all keep doing the same mistakes... I didn't like it sadly, it barely feels like a thriller at some points, the romance was so cheesy and i only finished it for the villain. But if you don't expect a really good intense thriller, with a lot of suspence, if you prefer melodrama and romance and it's your first crime drama, maybe you can like it.
If you want an original drama with intense horror this might not be for you. It's not masterpiece and it was pretty predictable but it was worth watching. The first 2 episode were really slow but then it get interesting, seeing the various situations in the apartments with the tenants and the people trapped was engaging. The best part of the drama is probably the cast, they were all so good. I personally feels like something was lacking, it didn't have a lot of suspense and action scenes sadly, i was expecting more but it was still enjoyable.
7.5/10 It was unique, funny intriguing and i loved the actors and cinematography, can't wait to read the book soon. For me it wasn't a masterpiece but definitely not a waste of time (people obv can have different opinions but i'm actually surprised about all the negative comments)
