I love Historical dramas in particular. Their costumes are so nice to look at. The way they scream and address each other while requesting to be killed for a small error is the most entertaining! The olden times seems so far apart from our life that it feels no different than watching an adventure fantasy ~

Shows rated 9 and above in my watchlist are the ones I thoroughly enjoyed in addition to them deserving a good score for reasons ranging from a well-written plot to amazing performances and direction. I would recommend each and every one of them to you.
THE BEGINNING OF MY JOURNEY
*insert noise of waves crashing into rocks*

I had always heard about Kdramas and Turkish Dramas having a lot of popularity during my Anime-hopping days but never bothered to check them out. (Animated beings were far more superior than real people!) Then one day, in 2019, I saw my mom watching the same old Hindi Daily Soap show repeatedly because there was nothing new worth watching. (It was Jodha Akbar which is actually a pretty good show). I felt bad for her because there's so much good content in the world and she's stuck alone in that same sad Hindi Soap Opera cycle. I kept convincing her multiple times to try out Kdramas because I knew it had cheesy romances and she loves cheesy romances (I do too). One night, she was so bored of that same old Hindi show and I knew that she was too lazy to check out Kdramas by herself so I would have to do it for her.  After dinner, I took her to the couch, went to Netflix and put Korean on the Search Tab. After scrolling a bit, I saw this show called Marriage Contract. It had a 30s couple in the poster and the title itself told me that this was definitely gonna have lots of cliched cheesy romance scenes which she will love. I played it.
.......20 minutes into the drama, both me and mom were on the sofa crying together (-﹏-、) and by the end of that episode, our eyes were too watery to even see clearly. That's when I knew that we are gonna love Korean Dramas. My mom continued to binge the show, re-watched it multiple times, and then moved on to other dramas and binged them all.

On the other hand, I had to force myself not to binge it because I had to study. But I ended up bingeing the drama. I loved it. Then I uncontrollably clicked on That Winter, The Wind Blows and binged that too! Then I moved to A Beautiful Mind and binged that too! Finally, I forced myself to stop watching it all and vowed not to touch Kdramas until 2022. I failed of course. In the summer of 2021, I ended up clicking on What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?, binged that too......that's when I came across MDL......and the rest. Is. History.

Meanwhile, my mom is at least a 100 dramas ahead of me ( ゜─゜)
