True but there are too many celebrities that make it in Chinese bl as main leads and get a ton of hate afterwards. Ex:Timmy Xu, Wang Yibo (ppl had underestimated him) , Xiao Zhan (ao3 incident), Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun (the had separate incidents but are similar). Basically the more recognition the film has probably something is gonna target one or the other. Except some dramas and actors. Ex: The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty (might have been because main CP actors are Taiwanese and its a Jackie Chan film), S.C.I Mystery (filmed probably in Hong Kong), Winter Begonia (probably because of the beautiful cinematography and beijing opera????).

What I like about Chinese bromance or censored bl dramas (after 2016) in general is that it's not as TOXIC and the production in most of the dramas are almost the same quality as straight dramas. But like during the 2016 era I don't really like those dramas because of how much toxicity is in it. And other dramas after tend to be more wholesome even though it's war heavy.

What I like about this drama is that even though the production might not be as good as The Untamed they make it up with it being more "uncensored". And also Youku isn't as big of a company as TENCENT too.

It says Chinese censored romance and what it typically means is that the original novel is really gay but because of homophobic censors they have to make it less gayer by calling it bromance and the dramas they're mostly refered as "soulmates". But typically a lot of scenes are passed through censorship. Examples: (The Untamed, killer and healer, Word of Honor)

It says it's gonna be produced by TENCENT so probably TENCENT Video app or YouTube on their YouTube channel. Like how they did with The Untamed. But like I don't really like TENCENT's release schedule or the ones in the "big 4's" (TENCENT, YOUKU, IQIYI, Mango Tv). But like immortality hasn't even come out yet

When you realize that China is gonna make a straight drama and bl drama adaptation and they're gonna have the same english name: ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️

I thought that it was the bl novel cause the poster but I think it's gonna be a straight drama now. As in they're gonna use the plot of the novel but make it straight?

Why do I feel like he's the Dai Jingyao of this music gen. Since Dai Jingyao had been on a show called Super Idol which was the same show Cai Xukun went on before idol Producer but he never debuted as a idol. Also Dai Jingyao mostly now acts in cheesy dramas as the idol character. But like Deng Chaoyuan (Aaron) also had the same experience. Since he went on ywy2 but didn't debut but debuted as a actor instead.

I've never read this story at all but what I can tell by the cover is that the person on the cover either looks like Ding Zeren in or Huang Xinchun from NEX7
