Speaking of Under the Skin, isn't it fascinating how Jin Shijia played Zhou Zi Yi in the 2016 adaptation? Cause imagine that 2 actors that played the same character in different adaptations act together as leads.... Oh wait ✨Under the Skin ✨

Is it just me but I REALLY want a backstory into some of the characters in season 2. Like director Zhang. It's said that she worked on the Cao Dong and Chu Ying Zhi when she was in another station but other than that, nothing. And of course more of Shen Yi's backstory too since it's never mentioned if he has parents or not

Interesting take but... If it was romance it would be longer than 20 eps, the cases may take longer to solve and the romance might get rushed (ex: My roommate is a detective season 1)

Wow that's really impressive but how'd you finish it within two days??? It's a 20 eps drama that's 45 mins each. Which is around 900 mins aka 15 hrs.

Probably but... Unless the censors get to it or if one of the main leads gets into huge controversy. Also if there is a season 2, then let's just hope the cast stays the same

The translation and video quality might be different. But I don't think there's really a difference. Also there's a version of it on YouTube under the linmon YouTube channel but the quality and translation is horrendous. It's direct translation. Also I think VIP IQIYI is really worth it for this drama specifically because there's Dolby audio and better video quality.

It's probably because some production company in China wants to make money off the franchise. If you're like me and can read some Chinese (very limited) you can see that Zhao Yunlan is listed as the first male lead, there's a female lead, and Shen Wei is listed as second male lead. Which probably means that the drama is straight with some Bromance?

I truly hope that none of the actors and actresses have any controversies and yes that includes the side actors too. It's because I know that the Chinese Bromance drama Original Sin that had Andrew Yin and Zhai Tianlin hasn't come out with a season 2 because of Zhai Tianlin's controversy surrounding his PhD (he was caught on a live that he didn't know a certain research (?) website that's commonly used when getting your PhD)

I think Tan Jianci had to study drawing to get into the role like learning how to hold the pencil and outlining but ... He I'm pretty sure he majored in dance and not drawing. So it might not have been drawn by him. Because he's an actor and not an artist. And I think that if he did draw it, the production company would want to highlight it and use it as a marketing strategy.

Edit: it was revealed in an interview how he had to learn for a month or two studying the sketching and understanding the profession to get into the role. And during a Livestream, he and artist that's specialized in that profession talked with each other.

True but that's probably to make the drama interesting because if it were to be realistic it'd probably be made by the government cause there are dramas that are more serious and probably have proporganda. And I really like that there's no proporganda in the drama. Also heard that there's a couple of artist in Mainland China that have a similar ability that's shown in Shen Yi. On the case with Zhang YingYing, they found the perp with the help of a Chinese artist and in AvenueX's review on the show, she reveals how there's a documentary on artists that have the ability.

"he was a kid himself". ??? When Shen Yi and Du Cheng first met they would've been in their early or mid 20s and then when they became colleagues they would've been in their late 20s or early 30s
