Totally agree about not cute and trying to be cute. So it was good that the producer to pick another girl to play the heavenly maid. I can't imagine Irene Song doing that role too. The other girl is more fitting
Yeah, ML was ok, just too old for a romantic role, it made all the sweet scenes a bit awkward. As for the FL, the only thing I can pick on is that after she came back from the mortal world, her personality just became Lin Mo. Ling Xi never came back. And that her tears dropped too easily. I liked Love and Redemption better for the simple reason that the leads are younger and the romance is easier on the eyes.

Coming from the Untamed, Ten Miles of Peach Blossom, this is definitely not comparable. FL had to be unattractive, that's how her character is written (dark, skinny, short.) Ireine Song is a good choice. Her chemistry with Arthur Chen was not quite right, so in that way I'm glad he left and Dylan Wang replaced him. There's no way Arthur Chen could have played Ning Que as Sang Sang's husband. Their relationship is that of the Master and Maid, no more.
