Was YY sad/mad that he had a concubine or sad/mad that he tried to hide it from her?
I second that, please die soon. It is terrible enough to leave the burden of the country to Yan2, but hurting her emotionally and also leaving his concubine and son to her care is just callous.

It is so sad right? 1) MY was trying to convince Derang to return to the capital and believed that the thing that is holding him back is a person heart and the fear of court strife etc. He cried because MY says that in the process of the reform for the country etc... he gained an empress, but lost Yan2, he gained official Han Derang but lost his brother. However if heaven gave him a choice to start over, he would still make the same choice as he is the ruler of the country. I felt so sorry for Li Si as she listened to the whole exchange. 2) The issue was on the sentencing of Han Derang father who lost a battle due to a trap set up by the enemy, as he is not very experience with strategies (which Derang told the father to seek advice from Xiu Ge before he left for the capital) The inner circle has plotted to take down the Hans and probably starting with father. So they were pushing for a death sentence for father Han failure. Yan2 was sort of telling MY how wrong he was in being impatient to put father Han to lead the army instead of Xiu Ge, and hence hasten his downfall and MY would regret in future if father Han is put to death, for after all father Han took care of MY when he was rescued from the massacre. I guess Yan2 learnt from the past when MY placed too much power to her father, which resulted in his death. 3) 3rd child in her womb as she goes to battle.
Exactly! I expected her intelligent character in the newest eps but hey, she let me down so far.. He came back…
Hand holding...ikr..poor Han Derang. At least they spared us the part of her convincing him to get married to dispel rumours. Plus I cannot stand her saying Derang gege. So oppa sounding.
Feeling up to Ep 34 the title should be The Legend of Mingyi (cough*cough*)? He is the strategist and brains trapped in an irreversible cough* cough* body wrecked by switched medication which fortunately did not stop his reproductive capability. So he managed to get rid almost all internal bad guys and will face external challenges going forth. I cannot stand Yan Yan as she has gotten totally selfish in her expectation of Han Derang. I am just so glad he moved on, got married and is nice to his wife who rightly deserves him. This character is almost flawless!
Tang Yan's character is also very willful, I felt there are times she just got lucky and turned things into fortunate…
That is my exact thoughts. I felt so grated at Ep 2 that I wanted to drop this. The elder sis is too goody and I initially thought she fancy the ML. As for the 2nd sis, she probably is just dumb and easily manipulated, the husband is more despicable.

ikr..like the father said if you marry the emperor Taiping king will come charging to the capital with his army. So interesting to see how and why she can fall for slave.
Seriously this the latest epi drew back memories of Shawn character in Princess Agents where he was beaten/slashed to pulp at the death terrace. End of sweetness aka Mr Sunshine. Looking forward to the next epi to see the character development of both FL & ML. Politics from time immemorial has successive leaders who may seem benevolent and of peoples choice at first but gradually or quickly renegrade morally for self preservation in the name of the better good for the nation.
