It's pretty much a straight rip off with all of the same plot beats and twists, and they even shot for shot copy…
Yes it's pretty confusing what gets picked up when like I said, this one has every same plot beat/reveal. The scenes are shot from the same angles. The flashback and twist happens at the same point. The sets are similar (though far cheaper) and every fight scene has the same moves. Like I said, even the actress was asked to express in the exact same way that Da-mi did in Witch. I just wonder if the Korean film makers even know about this? There's no way it doesn't go beyond plagiarism into an outright (albeit with a fake neo-punk filtre) remake.
so is this like a Chinese adaptation of the Korean movie The Witch ? or just has similarities ?
It's pretty much a straight rip off with all of the same plot beats and twists, and they even shot for shot copy ever action scene from Witch down to the last angle/frame. It goes as deep (and as awful) as making the lead actress pull the exact same expressions as Kim Da-mi in the Witch.
Do these guys have the rights or...?
I have zero clue how they got away with this.
