I think everyone needs to sit down, take deep breaths and stop confusing bromance as BL. There can be bromance even if the MC has a wife or a girlfriend. The only difference between a bromance centered drama and and romance centered drama is that the bromance take first in the drama. The relationship between the bros is the main focus of the story. Neither characters are gay, but they love each other dearly and would do s lot for one another. I get so frustrated when I look up bromance dramas and see some people recommending an obviously BL drama. BL drama is in literal term, boys love which means men loving men which I am also a fan of but sometimes I just want bromance, just friendship between two men and a lot people ruin this for me because of their lack of understanding. Please, please stop interchanging those two terms. 🙏
Oh my goodness..it left me with tonnes of surprises at the end. In the last few episodes, i racked the hell out…
What do you think is bromance 🤔 I know a lot of people keep confusing BL for Bromance, which drives me insane but the two are not the same. Bromance is simply platonic but strong love between two or more men. They love each other non-romantically and would do anything for each other. They can be blood brothers, friends or relatives. Example are Wuxie and xiaoge. Wuxie and Panza. The twins in Circle, Hello monster brothers. Let's try to be less ignorant okay?
Xiangliu goes out of his way to push Xiaoyao towards Tushan Jing because he knows he is unable to commit to her…
Everyone is carrying their trauma. You would better understand Xiangliu if you gave him a chance and watched his scenes. Skipping in this drama will make you miss vital details, which will take away from the richness of the story. Xiangliu and Xiaoyao have a lot of shared experiences. He was abandoned by his family, he was captured and kept in a cage and brutally tortured like Xiaoyao.
I agree that I didn't give Xianglu a chance, that's because of how he treated Xiaoyao in the past but even without that, Jing's care and kindness already stole my heart so I couldn't see him as anything more than cruel.
If Xiangliu chose to abandon Chenrong, he could be a great partner for Xiaoyao, but he won't because he's extremely loyal to his adopted father who saved him from the slave pit.
That's pure speculation since Xianglu has never displayed any normal form of devotion besides pain and denial. He doesn't know how to give the love and care Jing can give. He has never showed that, not once.
As for Tushan Jing, he has a lot of positive qualities like his kindness, gentleness, devotion... but... he has hurt Xiaoyao far more than Xiangliu ever has. He also has negative qualities like being spineless in the face of obstacles, and has failed to protect Xiaoyao several times at which point Xiangliu has had to swoop in to save the day. He is too passive. Also, TSJ can be manipulative. Fortunately he did apologise for trapping XY with that 15 year promise because of his fear of her falling for XL. As for the harm inflicted by XL at the wedding, that was organised by Tushan Jing and they spoke up at the same time at the wedding, so really Xiangliu and Tushan Jing are equally guilty there.
Jing has never once hurt Xiaoyao intentionally, whether to prove a point or to push her away. I admit Jing is too merciful. It doesn't make him spineless. He is just slow to do the things he knows he should do. Like standing up to his grandmother. His major fault is that he is too kind. He sees the trap coming but in order not to hurt his grandmother he didn't avoid it and hence Xiaoyao got hurt. As for the wedding, it was shown when Xianglu told Xiaoyao why he stopped her wedding, that it was Jing who told him to and Jing had said not to do it in a way that would cause others problems. He didn't want Xiaoyao's and Feng long's reputation ruined but Xianglu chose to do it the way that he did causing Xiaoyao to cry bitterly. So while he is guilty, he isn't as guilty as Xianglu. I don't think Xiaoyao would have chosen Tushan Jing if Xiangliu had devoted himself to her, confessed and loved her as openly as Tushan Jing. Their bond is very deep. There is a reason why they are the ones with the love bugs. However, that relationship won't progress because Xiangliu won't let it happen because he knows he will die with the Chenrong remnants, and he doesn't want to abandon Xiaoyao
It doesn't matter because if Xianglu could do what Jing could do then he wouldn't be Xianglu, would he. He would be Jing. That's why Xiaoyao chose him and not Xianglu.
I'm sorry. I can't take this critique seriously, when you end with this nonsense, that reveals your obvious bias…
You are a riot. You claim you aren't being too emotional but why are you capitalizing the word you. And you are also unreasonable. Everyone who is in love is usually selfish towards others. They want the person they love for themselves and don't want to share, unless you think Jing and Xiaoyao should make their relationship a open one. They don't want to give the person they love to someone else, that's normal and I wouldn't want a man who isn't trying to hold on to me. Your so called selfishness is love. Jing would be considered really selfish if he did things only for his interest. He didn't bother Xiaoyao with his feelings in case she has already moved on and only confessed to her when he knew she loves him too. And as for my comment, I stated a lot of things but your poor narrowed view only saw his looks which means everything else I said is true or you are just too shallow to focus on anything else besides his looks.
Xiangliu goes out of his way to push Xiaoyao towards Tushan Jing because he knows he is unable to commit to her…
At least you can understand why it has to be Jing. Xiaoyao is like Xianglu and Cangxun. All of them have been in one way or the other trumatized. I do not know Xianglu's truma as I can't stand to watch his scenes but Xiaoyao was captured and tortured, Cangxun witness his mother's death right in front of him. They've all got their scars and those scars have shaped them into the person that they've become. But Jing is different. He was betrayed and tortured by the brother he looks up to and loves dearly. He was broken to an extent that he should be in fracture. Jing should have become cruel. He is the perfect example of how villains are made and he has the wealth and brains to become one but he doesn't become a villain. He became kinder even. I have always been weak towards kind people and transparent people. This is why Jing will always be the one for Xiaoyao. Even if she had not chosen him in the end, Jing would always be the one. It's okay to love in secret. Take Chengdu from dream of chang'an. He loved Mingyu very dearly and he would do anything to have her but he never hurt her. Not even for her own good. You can't continue to hurt the person you love and say it's for their own good. That isn't love if it hurts all the time. Usually when the hero loves the girl, he hurts anyone but her.
"I try so hard to see what people like so much about Xianglu but end up skipping his scenes because he annoys…
I forgot to correct this
By ruining XY's reputation, XL ensured that XY would never again be put in a position where she would be asked to enter into a political marriage / a marriage with someone who did not truly love her. If she ever married, it would only be a marriage with someone who loved her so much that they wanted to marry her regardless of her ruined reputation (i.e., someone like TSJ/YSQ).
This is a misunderstanding. First of all, Cang Xun would never use Xiaoyao for political marriage. Xiaoyao agreed to marry Feng long for the reason that one he was an avid supporter of Cangxun, two he likes her and she had a lot in common with him, and three because she wanted to forget Jing. She said so herself. So that's either your misunderstanding or Xianglu's
I'm sorry. I can't take this critique seriously, when you end with this nonsense, that reveals your obvious bias…
Okay so from what you wrote it's the looks that count to you then. Good for you. I don't know if you have ever heard the saying that beauty is in eye of the beholder, for me Jing is far more handsome than Xianglu and I am not just talking about his face, his soul is beautiful too. All I said wasn't criticism by the way, it is simply facts. I only wanted to know what others saw in him that I cannot see and I didn't really need your kind of answer that's just too emotional. Get a grip.
"I try so hard to see what people like so much about Xianglu but end up skipping his scenes because he annoys…
Thank you for taking your time to reply. It wasn't really rhetorical but I wasn't expecting a reply this detailed. Shows you have your reasons for liking him unlike other Xianglu fans whose only response is to insult Jing to make themselves feel better. I understand all your comments and I can't argue that from your perspective he seems likeable. But there something I am a little bugged about. Does that mean that Xianglu believes that only by pushing Xiaoyao away will she end up with Jing? This is my assumption based on what you have written. Correct me if that's not the case. Xianglu, according to what you said, believes that Xiaoyao was falling for him and so he had to make sure she wouldn't. Is that actually true or is it just what he believes. From my perspective I know that Xiaoyao loves only Jing. She may have affections for Xianglu and fangfang bei but those feelings aren't the same as the love she feels for Jing. Episode 18cleared that up for us. Don't take this the wrong way but I think that, if that's the reason Xianglu has gone out of his way to hurt her over and over and over again that he just doesn't know how to love. He can't let himself commit and is simply pushing Xiaoyao away to protect his heart. I mean he alone was destroying his chances with Xiaoyao because of his own misunderstanding. Even if he did not take any of those actions, I don't believe Xiaoyao would have chosen him but you know what would have happened? He would have fallen more in love with her like Cangxun, and grown selfish. He would not be able to accomplish his goal of staying true to his army and dying with them. He wouldn't be able to do anything more than be jealous of Xiaoyao's love for Jing like Cangxun. So he pushes her away from himself not for her sake as you have said, or not just for her but for himself.
I try so hard to see what people like so much about Xianglu but end up skipping his scenes because he annoys me. I don't know what he is so sad about when everytime he appears before Xiaoyao he finds someway to hurt her. Is he a sadist or a masochist. Before you argue about how selfless he is and caring in secret, hear my argument. Aside from how he treated Xiaoyao in the past, in the present he went out of his way to ruin Xiaoyao's wedding and reputation to hurt her, at least that's the only reason I can think of, because as Jing had told him to do it earlier, he had enough time and enough excuse to do it. Xiaoyao asked him to give her a reason not to marry Feng long but he doesn't. Only to torture Xiaoyao with his mind power just to know who she wants to marry. Then he continued his torture and threat by making Xiaoyao suffer the pain from the poisonous bugs for no apparent reason worth mentioning. He doesn't do anything without throwing sand in it and all he does is sit in that sea shell looking miserable and misunderstood. I really don't know what's so likeable about him. If it is looks, Jing is certainly better looking. But perhaps it's just the bad boy charm. Even that is sorely lacking.
Well, this won't be Jing's first attempt to die or death device plot on this show lmfaoo
Everything is not about being good at fighting. What Jing lacks in strength he makes up for in thoughtfulness, kindness and care. None of the other MCs can hope to beat him in that. He is a green flag in every way and I would choose him in a heartbeat if all he has is money but Jing is also very clever. He is mentally strong and would not break easily. He has devoted his whole life to Xiaoyao which is exactly what she wants. They are a perfect match. Others may not like it and find fault with everything he does not because there's anything wrong with him but because they like someone else and they are jealous and full of hate towards him because he is endgame. I get it as I have been there too. But you should know that hating him won't change anything and doesn't make this show any less of a hit. Everything about it is great. Don't be petty just because your ship didn't sail, it happens. Let's learn to bear with without being petty.
I don't know whether Dylan is better than Chen or Chen is better than Dylan, all I know is they both killed it in the show. I'm very disappointed to see the rating of part two because I think part two has a better plot than part one. I am not a movie expert like some of the people down in the comment section but I loved almost everything about the show. The change in cast didn't really affect my watching it too. I have been trying to get into watching Dylan's series and failing, especially love between devil and fairy, and now after seeing his acting in this I can't wait to check out more of his work.
But honestly, did they really have to go that hard in Allen's look and constume? 🥵🥵🥵 I couldn't breathe for most of his scene. That man is so hot already he burns, why they gotta add those earrings. It's just letal
If the story was without this whole vigilante thing and focused on a psychotic killer who has some power where…
I disagree about the hero MC killing blindly. I think from what we saw about him in the beginning, he really wasn't the type to hit back. He wasn't perfect but he never acted violently even to those who bullied him. I think the reason he always seemed to kill those bad people when he wouldn't hurt a fly usually is because of his powers. He instinctively moves to kill bad people without thinking. And the guilt of doing so always follows him. At a point I began to understand that perhaps the power wanted him to kill. The illusion slash nightmare he had about that other killer trying to kill him. It's part of the instinct. Essentially he knows who to kill without really knowing it and would be tormented until he does.
Tang kept killing the bad guys on instinct since he knows he can't be caught
I think it's open ended in a way and left for us to infer which ever one we like. First we know just because a murder was announced does not mean Tang is involved and we also know that Tang can ignore the instinct to kill scums like he did in one episode. What we don't know is if he has a reason to keep killing again. He was scared witless intially when shit hit the fan but maybe he wants to carry on for Roh Bin, who knows. So it's open ended.
This comment section is off the rails lolxd how is it all everyone can talk about after watching almost two hours of the show is a character that only appeared twice. Like how. And why is no one talking about the last scene of episode 7 where MC just ignored that dying man.
I get so frustrated when I look up bromance dramas and see some people recommending an obviously BL drama.
