Excuse me, being a porn actor isn’t something to be ashamed of. It’s not a punishment. Why is this series…
it's not the fact that he is a porn actor. it's the conditions under which he is being a porn actor. he is clearly not doing it in an even remotely safe environment and not okay with the situation. furthermore, he previously only ever sold out his trainee colleagues to those investors, but has seemingly always avoided the abuse himself, as if he was "too good" for being put into an ungraceful situation. also, remember he wasn't in debt when he lost his job at dream (unlike in the manhwa). he was just unemployed. indicating that he desperately clung onto his life in fame and fortune instead of admitting to himself that he lost pretty much everything and needs to adapt to the situation. so for me, the tragic of the situation is that he is unable to recognise the situation for what it is and walk away from it. he fails to reflect upon himself and cant let go of the obsession with his own relevance. now compare it with sun. he also used to be in a position of power over others in his days as a depth collector. but when shit hit the fan for him, he was humbled real quick and asked himself if it was the result of his own actions. even though his self reflection ended up in a massive guilt trip for himself, he realised that his previous actions were part of the problem.
Ironically, I imagine sunny's character might have even enjoyed working in that industry, but under his own terms and in safe conditions. perhaps with an onlyfans and an audience that revered him. and I have to agree with others, that his fate was bad but I'd rather seem him in jail.
It was a pretty good adaptation, I could feel they cared about the source material at least BUT the series would…
I didn't read the novel but I read the manhwa around the time it finished. I think it was a great adaptation that was very faithful to the manhwa and I cannot stress enough how perfectly the actors were cast for the characters. (for me personally, only one piece did a better job in in that department.) ofc, they had to do a few changes, since a show needs different things to work well than a manhwa or novel, but I think they all were done in a smart way that rather added to the story than took away from it. most notably, a few of the support characters were developed significantly further for the show, which worked out extremely well imo. I was a bit worried at first, if it's gonna be weird that the show is set in Thailand, whereas the manwha is set in South Korea, but even that worked out well imo. lastly, the production quality is also really good and the pacing arguably even a little better than the manhwa. I'm not a huge sound/music person, so I can't comment much on that. I think that one chello theme was maybe a bit overused. but then again, it fit so well to each scene they used it for, so I can look over it.
half way through and I love how Ju Tae Seon firm on the law and justice when it comes to murder but completely ignores the fact that his bullying and sexual harassment at the workplace are highly problematic and I don't even wanna start about the ethical reasons why one shouldn't sleep with his subordinates xD he isna total baddie but also so full of shit in that regard. I love how complex his character is in that sense.
Let’s face it. Knot is a very different and challenging project, its much darker , mature, serious BL. It’s…
quite the opposite for me. the pilot made me think it was a mature story but the actual show has so many cringe elements, probably for comedic relief or something? furthermore, the script just isn't good at all. it's hard to follow the story, if there is any. scenes seem completely random. and some changes from the pilot make 0 sense, for example the actress who plays the mother could pass for their sister. don't get me wrong, I WANT to like the show. I was super excited for it and the pilot had me in a choke hold for weeks. but the result is objectively not great. people have been craving a show like this, so they are willing to look over its flaws. and honestly, fair enough. but please let's not pretend this show was some kind of masterpiece. I wish the creators wouldn't have rushed production so much and taken more time to work on the script. but instead they saw the hype around the pilot, a hungry audience and a trope with barely any shows to live up to, and decide to not waste a single second.
how is the rating so high? I feel like by all metrics this is not a quality show. I'm gonsta watch the whole thing…
I ate the pilot up but the actual show is disappointing me.. some scenes that they changed are straight up worse than the pilot version or make zero sense. it feels as if the pilot was made by a professional and the show was made by an intern.. Its not terrible, so I still keep watching it. but for me personally, it's definitely a let down in comparison to the pilot.
..and I'm also tired of trailers/pilots catfishing me with the promise a serious mood and a grown up story, and then the actual product is sprinkled all over with cringe comical relief...
I'm 4 episodes in and I love most of the show so far, but I can't stand the FMC 😭 can someone please tell me if she will undergo any significant character development or will she stay this shallow and incompetent til the end? despite everything else, her character alone makes me wanna drop the show entirely atm
I found the manwha scenes to be quite long at times, so they probably can fit it all in, without affecting the…
100% agreed with the first part of this comment. but for anyone who is new to the story, make no mistake: Jay is not an entity green flag either. at least not for fluffy BL or real life standards imo
Oh gosh no. Jay gets really mad when Sun/Yoohan gets hurt. He might get very pushy but never hurts him.
THAT is the bar for not being a red flag? literally on the floor 🥲😭 I'd argue that he has some red flag tendencies, especially in terms intimacy. though he also shows green flag behaviour and their relationship is ultimately consensual
The beginning was strong and interesting, quickly drawing me into the series, but now each episode is more boring…
so far, the focus of the show is defo on the relationship between the two main characters than anything else, I agree. but I think it's a valid approach to keep the story simple and not let it overwhelm that aspect. I can see how the first few episodes might raise different expectations though. they kinda look like there would be a complex plot. and I think it's fair to say that the production quality and acting are also partially responsible for the high rating.
All the characters or some specific characters ? All in all I enjoyed it ... I wasn't expecting a lot. Just "happily…
I 100% agree on the amount of shows and their quality. I low-key have the impression, that 70% is just content churn at this point, almost like the equivalent of fast fashion. if one show is successful, people in the industry try to boil it's success down to one aspect and single it out. and then rush to make 5 new shows that really lean into that aspect, but don't have anything else going for them. the trailers are always great, because they capture that one successful thing perfectly. but the actual show reveals shallow characters and a poorly written story, with nothing original about it to stand out.
though, in all fairness, it's not that I'm watching every single ongoing show, so I might miss out on a lot of good ones and do the industry injustice. I think when I'm done with my current batch of shoes, I might give love of silom another shot, too. I know many shows that started great and ended poor. so there is always a chance for it to be the other way around ^^'

it's really mostly the main characters. I think it's okay if shows make a little use of stereotypes, but in this case, it's just too much. wayu's character is the epitome of "good guy being misstreated by the universe". I haven't picked it up again, so maybe he'll get a bit more depths throughout the show. I think what bothers me even more is the cringe in some of the scenes and dialogues. the spitting food with open mouth scene, the throwing a dildo after him, the awkward conversation at the police station... I felt embarrassed on behalf of the characters, really. but to be fair, I might also have had wrong expectatuons based on the trailer. I thought it would be more high stakes and serious. what I think is cringe, is probably meant as some commedic relief and I guess fan service? I didn't like that about dare you to death either. and for that show I was RRALLY hyped, and really disappointed :(
for the first question no they dont know later on they will find out though jay knows first but wasnt sure and…
1) I think jay knows when they meet on the rooftop, but yoohan isn't the brightest candle here and only realises it super far into the story. chapter 80, I think. I don't recommend skipping there, since you'll miss a lot of good stuff. but if you must, you should skip to 3-5 chapters before that. 2) chapter 32 and 37, but not worth skipping imo

and he also might have repressed the whole memory from back then

I think if the rest of the show is as good as the 1st episode, it's gonna be a banger
