After watching My Roommate is a Detective I realized how good Bai Yu was as a detective. I think the detective role suits Bai Yu more than anyone. He did a great job in Detective L and even the lead actress as Xiao Man was so good too.. I really liked her acting.

Yes the characters interactions are fun to see. It's very much better than 100% serious conversations.
I never watch on-air dramas because I don't like to wait too, but I was so curious about this one I ended up watching it lol.
Luckily C-dramas release many episodes a week.
I recommend you have a cup of coffee while watching My Roommate is a Detective, I do this every time I watch it and the feeling is great lol. I become fully focused on the case XD

I finished 4 episodes of My Roommate is a Detective and so far Detective L was more exciting to me.
But since it's hard for you to wait or be left hanging then you might need to skip this drama unfortunately..

Although the ending is incomplete/open ending, that doesn't change the fact that it is a very good drama. I enjoyed every episode of it. Bai Yu's acting skills made the drama more interesting and fun. Besides, because of this incomplete ending... chances are high there might be season 2. That alone makes me excited and looking forward to it.
btw... we don't even know how My Roommate is a Detective will end too hahah

For now I only watched these 2 dramas that are similar in time period. I really loved the costumes and unique buildings/ houses in Detective L (which became 1 of my favorite dramas) and that was the main reason I started watching My Roommate is a Detective. And I'm super happy to find they're so similar in many things!
And the search will continue to find more dramas like these two gems.

Every episode was fun to watch. I had a great time watching this drama. There was never any boring moment.. even after two years now I'm rewatching it <3

I totally understand how you feel.... because I feel the same these days! I can't find any interesting drama to watch. I even feel they don't exist anymore after all the awesome dramas we watched before like Goblin for example.
I just will tell you about Go Go Squid since I have an idea about it.
I watched it because it was highly recommended but just like you.. I can't find it interesting. It was actually good in some episodes but they'll let you wait forever until there is a hug scene or kiss scene. you have to wait until ep.30 ! can you believe it? I only have 2 episodes left and I'm not even interested in the ending lol... It was very wrong of them to let viewers wait forever for love scenes. Now I don't care anymore. I can't even bring myself to finish this drama because I personally find it boring.

I agree with you. especially female leads like Kotoko always irritate me. don't watch Good Morning Call if you still haven't, because the female lead character there is the same if not even worse -__-
