The story is really interesting but doesn't flow very smoothly, maybe it's the editing. All the characters are somehow entangled with one another but they just appear one after the other without pause, everything sort of gives me whiplash. They didn't give much thought to world building that's for sure.

A truly well executed drama, although the last few episodes could have been handled a bit better in my opinion. I had a bunch of theories that never became true so I wanted to share them. I thought that because JY had been in FY’s body since he fell from that cliff, he (JY) had always been him (FY) and that he just had amnesia. That’s what I feel they tried to convey but then they pulled that astral projection thingy with FY and JY chatting so I was proven wrong. That theory was based on the idea that even though there were mantels, they were different ways they could manifest like : JY had already been there for the last 10 years and the « original » FY, who was meant to occupy the vessel until JY appeared, had died falling from the cliff ; CZ was the vessel and he and ML were two entirely different entities who just happened to be fated to share a body ; BS would be the vessel while also being a reincarnation so hers and XY’s soul would essentially be the same. All in all it would mean that BS/XY fell in love with JY in FY’s body with no memory of their first life but still « themselves ». I really thought that whole « you’re not him/her » situation was not gonna happen. Oh well still a superb watch.

I’m with you on the bow thing because we know that FL used a bow and we know that she has a special destiny and special powers . As for FY, I think that based on ALP and TLI JY chose to go down to the mortal realm to find XY or something. I am not sure because I didn’t watch either show.

I feel like, in the flash backs at least, they cgi’ed Ao Rui Peng’ JY to look a bit like Liu Xue Yi. JY looks very different from FY in any case.
