love bai lu but i feel like ive seen her play this character type too many times
Really but she just played two xianxia in her career and this is the third one, the first is zhao yao which is completely different role from this, the second is tteotm and she was more angst, and here she is funny, cute and smart, yhose are all different to be clear.I recommend you to rewatch those three drama of her and you will see the difference.

Her character will develop slowly it's 40 so it will take some time at least at the half of the drama, but now it's early to judge her character
