About Mu Ren i share the same feelings with you ! He's like a living yaoi character ! His exagerated -looking outfits (or let's say veery fashionable ) was intentional to highlight his personality ; very neat, clean, courteous and a bit narcissic . ( but the interesting point is that he's friendly and modest with his collegues and friends. ) If you check the Instagram pics taken in the Radio podcast, you'll see that he looks completely different and more "normal" ! (black hoodie, glasses, natural hair style ) which confirms the imagination and the effort invested to transform him and put him into the role !
For me, this season was like a FHD filming of a non-existent script or clear story -_- amateurish superficial work... and my 2 most sources of discomfort were, the dad's horrible acting and Pei Shou Yi -a former doctor- running a cafe-restaurant and living in a place that looks for me like a homeless's shelter under a bridge. (sorry lol )
Honestly, i don't understand why the rate for this series is relatively low. I watched all the released episodes in a row and couldn't stop loving it episode after episode. Why it's getting so much hate while there are many many positive points and amazing details in it ?! (Of course everyone has their own perception but frankly speaking im doubting about the fanbase "quality" )
Watching the drama was definitely like reading a novel. The alternation between "fiction" and realism, romance and comedy is brillant and made the episodes soo smooth and not heavy. The actors' high skills portrayed so well the characters.
The filming techniques and angles and the quality of the picture delivered are so professional and artistic in many moments ! Like the beach scenes (usually in "beach scenes" it's sunny but it was cloudy which made the moment bitter-sweet and very emotional ), the zoomed conversation scene of Ye Xing Xi and his friend (- at sunset time - I could feel the cold breeze while watching!!) etc.
Also i appreciate so much the choice of outfits and even when they're repetitive in few times, it doesn't feel like a mistake. In the first or 2nd episode, I noticed Ye Xing Xi was wearing a pink shirt and white pants. I doubted him being "bottom" on that moment x) . Then wore pink swimming boxers while his younger brother was wearing black ones. After that anniversary night, i ended up being right x) . So the choice of colors was intentional ! Of course i won't mention the fashionable outfits of all the actors especially Mu Ren's.
I loved so much how the story " skipped " the casual and oridinary "gay" issues and complications -___- (Thank you !!! ) for example, the parents who are against the gay son, the roomates who get shocked once they discover one among them is gay ( Mu Ren and Li Cheng 's reaction was so naturally beautifully supportive ! ) , the way two best male friends fall in love with each other . And most important, i liked so much the fact that there's no "side couple architecture" but instead both couples got a fair chance in the production !!
Last but not least, i really love the story of the 2 brothers. It's not new in BLs to see this kind of love. But the way they treated is in History 4 is creative. I loved the "twist" of a younger "dominant " brother and a cute innocent bottom older brother . This relationship can be purely fiction and I don't see a problem about it. but in the drama Ye Xing Xi's reaction after sleeping with his possessive autistic self-centered brother was realistic. He was tormented with complicated feelings. When he suddenly cried in the latest episode it really broke my heart. I hope fans kindly consider that it's a drama, and if you see the young bro being a harrasser, remember that Ye Xing Xi loves him as well but just still denying it (he confessed when he was drunk). And in the bed scene not only he treated him gently, but also he didn't "force" a kiss. The real rape scene was Mu Ren being raped by that director !!! Do you see the difference ?
Li Cheng's dream was breathtaking xD *nosebleed* I don't know how Mu Ren as an actor find the courage to do the scene perfectly !! And when Mu Ren stripped completely, his silhouette was angelic !!! omg He's like a character from a Yaoi anime ! (reminded me of Okane ga nai lol )
Im a fan of the opening OST too !! *-* And the OST in the beach scene !
Anyway, i hope many fans reconsider , not devalue and support the drama and do not spread hate comments toward the actors...

omg i thought nobody will notice this detail !! his smile and very calm way of acting are amazing. He's the type of deep actors who's body and face can express a lot of feelings and emotions T-T Choosing him for an older brother role , with a cute innocent personality and then being "bottom" is extremely brillant ! That's a "twist" in many Yaoi mangas and chinese BL Novels.
This drama has been so tragic since the first episode and every episode contained little happy moments and much sadness. I feel sorry for myself that I got tricked and got fake hopes for sweet kissing moments since then. It feels like the director was in a rush and had to put all the main events (-he read in the book-) in 10 episodes and didn't give importance to sweet scenes. I noticed the cuts in episode 8 to make it less longer and less boring. Even censored chinese BLs made me feel much satisfied because the hidden romance and feelings are so intense and the events are logically smooth . I started watching BL because they entertain me but many new BLs are far from being fun to watch like this one. (I like melodrama genre but not to a non sense extent)

I just wanted less and less detailed intimate scenes so that i can talk about it comfortably to close people xD (They are a key part of the movie tho. ) I was focusing on decor, costumes and makeup details and it was extremely perfect , brillant, real investment and no 3D stuff ..
I felt soo bad for the king T---T Hong was so selfish even on their last breath. And I don't understand why women bring so much problems when they are between 2 men !! The king was so naive suggesting that idea so he paid for it ...but i understand that he considered it as a way to get a baby (heir) from his beloved one T-T His song is so beautiful helped me cry more. (PS : aside from sex scenes, the movie contains violent ones ! Make sure to mute and hide the screen !!)

Finished The Untamed about 2 weeks ago, and while watching this new wuxia I was unconsciously making comparisons. The village, the lake, the inn and other decor are the same. The dialogues are sooo long that i fell asleep before finishing 1 episode. Fans are already shipping the 2 leads but being objective i still feel nothing romantic happening between them. That girl with purple dress is very irritating. The support roles are not perfect too and their outfits either. Other thing is that there were violent scenes so warning to sensitive people. I have hopes that it's going to be very exciting tho ! ( waiting for the lead chara to remove that ''mask'' first )
I really don't like such things in BLs.... Like when a writer (or director) has many ideas and wants to put them ALL in 1 and very short drama -_- ... I, 25 y.o., feel so cheap being in this flow of cheap BL dramas... I have no high expectations in the follow-up, just hope the side couple doesn't disappoint me (their story seem to be mature )
