To me, what his studio statement said was that a case was being brought for AI fraud and extortion against the people who released the recordings. I read it as the v. recording were all AI fakes? 'JoyOL' also said that he will be in their next instalment too.

Yeah, you were lol. It's that messy GuoJM, he did the same when he shot Zuo Ye in the trailer so it looked like WD in 'YinYM'. They actually look diff but both have smooth features + long noses that Gjm seems to like. Don't know if you knew this, both WD & TJR are signed to him. There's been jokes about him getting X who resembles Y, Y resembles Z🤦🏻‍♀️.

I can't get info on this film either. Apart from WD cutting his hair there's no indication of what it's going to look like/ be about...

I meant 'in the middle of the road' straight, so it can appeal to more audiences. The aesthetics in 'BR' were extreme, you'll either love or hate it. If Dir went that route for TV, I would be surprised, but I would love, love it.

Yes, he's not officially listed for directing. Allegedly he wasn't paid for that role due to their budget, but both Dirs are on the bts. I have a feeling the art direction team is different. So it'll be interesting if he goes the 'straight' route this time for this drama.

Dir did a fantasy costume(wuxia) in the past called "Bloody Romance." It was a dark fairy tale, low-budget, and totally unique, even for today. One of my favourite dramas. He was the producer and director there. 

From what I remember when Li Yitong filmed "The Knockout," there were NO Reuters. What we're getting on 'XY' is him being generous lol... They released a wrap trailer 2 months after completion. TBH, the trailer didn't make the drama look interesting. I haven't watched 'KO' but heard it was the acting, pacing, and like 'BR', the characters are grey, so that hit at a deeper level. Apart from some of the costumes/wigs looking a bit dodgy in 'XY', he can definitely do costumes well. 🤞🏻 he delivers this time as well.

Yess, he uses traffic as the MLs. Gjm has more leverage after "MyJ2U" was a hit for IQYI & their artist Cheng Lei. TJR & SunJC are now MLs. IQYI (& other platforms) want to get their artists into his projects (FangsOF/ CDL, & Painted Skin/ Zeng Shunxi ).

Recently some of ZhangBB fans came for WD after they got upset over the promo clip of him and SZN. They started spreading rumours, including gjm ones. They demanded production release materials of him solo in the future. ZUI was nowhere to be seen. So future promos might not feature him much if production caves in... 

ZUI is gjm's company. Most of WD's fans think there's already a split. The 4 artists attended the Wenrong Awards last year. ZUI posted pics of just the 3. The same when "The Blossoming Love" wrapped, they posted SunJC, who guest starred but not WD. So I'm not sure what's going on here🤔.

Agree. He needs exposure to gain resources. His 4-year gap + GJM getting canx at the time is an issue. GJM also has haters in C-Ent, & that clique is unlikely to work with him as well.

He's still with ZUI/GJM. Out of the 4, he works outside the most. I heard he searches/auditions for roles himself outside of ZUI🤔. It seems like there's some sort of split between them.

TBH, I'm not keen on him working with GJM. Some of his canxs were due to him. + the innuendo & rumours that comes with it. BUT, he may have to do 1 as GJM's made a come-back & he's said as much on WD's Weibo...

These 2 bloggers are grt for to/from make-up vids: vivianwithfreedom & No. 0521 Wang Duo Phonograph. In 'Xiao Yao' he's mostly in a hood but if you go back to their Jan vids for 'The Blossoming Love' they were great. Vivian is more consistent in posting up.
